Having been here only a short while I can tell you that there are lovely people here who will look after you. Im sure you will find folk who have the same sensibilities.
Your age isn't nescessarily an issue. I've met some 18 year olds who are far more mature than I am and some who are very immature.
All I would say to you is to take it at your pace, no one else’s. Don't allow anyone to make you feel pressurised. Always ask yourself what it is you want and never feel obliged to do something, ever. It is perfectley acceptable for any person to change their mind at the eleventh hour. Dont think that just because you have done/said x and y that you have to do z.

I really like it here - have met some very very nice people in an online sense - sure I could meet some in the flesh if I wanted to, but haven't really been actively looking for that so couldn't tell you how easy or difficult it is. I can tell you that it's a fun place to be, though.

Don't worry about your age, there are plenty of people in the same age group as you- we're fairly young here, i'm 24 and den is 29 now (just remembered I need to change our profile, it was his birthday the other week!)
We've never had a problem meeting up with anyone, there are plenty about! It took a month or so of chatting when we first joined(we hadn't found the forum then) but once we met one couple, we got chatting to the people they had met and so on and so on- if you meet people in your area, you tend to find most of them will know others that you chat to/meet too, so you will build up friends that way!
