my daughter breaks up in a weeks time & already feel the stress of organising things so she's not bored. If the rain continues, what would you do with a hyperactive 12 year old confused
in edit- its not that I don't want her at home its just that she gets bored so quickly lol
I love school holidays. biggrin No mums blocking the roads up with their 4x4s on the school run. The drive to work is nice and quiet and I get another 10 minutes in bed.
I'm dreading it. 8 year old with a low boredom threshold and no time for me to play 'cos I don't have sitters. sad
I love school holidays too. biggrin
Check with your local council, sports centre and your daughter's school - there are often activity sessions led by qualified coaches and teachers.
I like the not rushing around in the mornings, extra bit of time in snooze land. Hope the weather is ok tho else my son will be bored stupid!!
Suze xx
Bloody hell! My son's been home for 4 weeks already since he finished his GCSEs confused
Thankfully mine are at the age where they want to do their own thing. I have my uses when they run out of money and require lifts to and from where ever they are going. I've started to make them get the bus to appreciate public transport tho but always make sure they get home safe.
The thing is... what am I going to do with 6 wks leave from Uni???.. More SH perhaps? smackbottom
No Mar .. no!!!
Now i've got the perfect solution to the school holidays!!!!!
Whack em into Social Services care for 6 weeks :evil2: the do gooders of the service will put money in there pockets clothes on there backs & food in there belly's & as its the summer holidays they will arrange wonderful things for them to do :smug:
Then at the end of 6 weeks take em out & back home & if ya play your cards right they might even come back with a new uniform for next term :thrilled:
Failing this just stick em infront of the pc or play station lol

Tell him to come & look after mine :giggle:
could work well- he'd have a job & I would have some space lol
(he would have to be used to being pulled about & footy as she's a proper tom boy)
Mine are off to see their nan for three weeks in Ireland  so I'll only have three weeks to keep them entertained.
It is difficult, especially if we dont have the weather to do the usual park/beach visits etc and they have to stay at home.
What I normally go for is the local cinemas/museums, which you can do even when it is raining.
Failing that, if you do have to be at home, some cooking lessons for them, kids normally enjoy that. Mainly cooking and decorating cakes.
Arts and craft kits can be useful to keep them entertained for a little while too.

Possibly but if it's 9 years old it will be quite well rooted by now. Unless it's a derogatory term he's using for a child? confused
We love school holidays, then again thats probably because we are both teachers!
