I'm not particularly a follower of Golf but Seve Ballesteros was yet another "gentleman" of his game, the likes of which are now starting to drop like flies.
The world is a sadder place on his demise.
I watched a recent film of his life after he had an operation to remove a brain tumour and the man was utterly charming and an incredible inspiration. In his game, he was equally an incredible inspiration and worthy of his four world titles.
I watch the likes of some of these prattish idiot footballers who deserve nothing let alone the vast wealth they command for very bad behaviour and poor social skills they display and wonder; when they fall off their perch, will anybody really be bothered?
is how I best remember him and that wonderful Spanish accent...
RIP Seve.
I'm right with you there.
That man virtually single-handed put European golf up there and beyond the USA.
At 54 years old he's a sad and early loss.
.
the greatest golfer EVER
he changed the way europeans played the game and took it to the usa where he was the first to win the masters.
RIP seve i shall remember him always wave

Drove past a golf course today with it`s flag at half mast ....took me a moment to realise !!
Obviously a man who touched peoples lives and as a non sports follower ....one of the names I actually recognise without scandal being attached.

Thank you Tiger!
