Good subject this one(very apt at the mo as i came on this morning :cry: )
Well as far as we are concerned it certainly isnt a bar for sex,but thats just for penetration,everything else we dont do while im on.
We usually avoid it on the first day as it can be uncomfortable but as for the rest of the time we both end up gagging for it and think sod it!!!!
(definately right as far as the sheet goes though!!)
But Steves not too fussed as i suck him off to keep him going anyway lol

But he is very understanding too,as much as a bloke can be of these things!
As for going down on me thats definately out of the question.
Also its only something we'd ever do between the two of us,no one else.

Never a problem for sex betwen the two of us, only I don't go on top if I'm heavy.
If it's a sweaty session, and it usually is, we have a shower after anyway.
As for other people, it would put most off.
I'd say lay off swinging during rag week.
Though Richard often makes girls bleed if they aren't used to real hard shagging, so it's not that much difference.
And if one of you is a vampire, that would actually make it your best week!

If you're with someone and you don't want a baby for a while - get a coil - a specific one called a Marina. It goes in and stays in for up to five years.
I've had it in since September and not had a "rag week" now since November biggrin

I have the odd feeling of lowness and tummy pain etc, but nothing actually happens and that is as it's supposed to be.
The doctors will try you on the slightly cheaper (for the NHS) one but ask for it specifically by name.
Oh btw, if you haven't had children (which I haven't) it's quite sore going in but well worth it.

i have one of these too.. and its the best thing ever!
you actually have to be "councelled" in my area to make sure its for you.. as its supposed to be quite expensive and they dont want to have to remove it after a bit. confused

also.... dont get your hopes up about subbys comment saying it was painfull to have in cos she not had kids.... i DO have a child... and it was still one of the most painfull things i ever had......but worth it.
in my pre-mirena days.. when i used to have a nightmare every 28 days... i had a little trick that i used to use.
for the first part of the period.... when its very light.. you can use a small piece of natural sponge. and push it in REALLY deep.... this will stop any mess at all.
it can be a bit of a nightmare retrieving it though... and i found myself in some mightliy unatural positions on the bathroom floor trying to do it. :shock:
also.. it REALLY does have to be natural sponge as synthetic sponges have a lot of dangerous chemicals in them.

A sensitive subject I guess,
As a bloke, who doesnt pretend to understand everything,
There is something very re-assuring about a partner "being on the rag".
For one - it is proof of a - although women might not feel it - fully fledged and fertile woman. Does that sound crass? redface

It doesnt bother me at all, but if it is very heavy a good old jonny can help - and maybe even make an uneasy partner feel better about it? And why not :idea: IN THE SHOWER - that can really save un-necassery cleaning. lol

I know a couple of girls that say they're at their horniest at that time of the month but it's always seemed to me.
I think it's something that's drummed into most guys during their teens:
"You can't do that I'm on"
"You can't touch there it's the wrong time of the month"

I just make a lil plug with tissue and carry on! I`m lucky in the fact that I only mentruate for 2/3 days, so seeing as we only shag once or twice a week when we aren`t snowed under, it`s never too much of an issue anyway. It can carry an ncreased risk with STDs, but that shouldn`t be a problem if people are sensible and use a condom.
Bummer is I`m due soon, so knowing my luck I`ll have a lovely bout of period pains at the munch confused

You are right Sub -These are indeed wonderful products but just to clarify its Mirena - would not want anyones doctor thinking they looking for somewhere to park their boat
There is growing evidence that there are many non contrecptive benefits to this product. Not everyone is going to want to go down the hormone route but there are many advantages to these things. For myself I have no bleeding, less visiable signs of PMS (this from a woman who has previously jumped from a moving train due to hormone induced rage) and even reduced blood pressure. I'd highly recommend it.

Sex during menstruation has never been a problem .
Sex during PRE menstruation now that can be dangerous !
Having negotiated the 'Angry Lioness' syndrome in order to get to the squishy bit , you then have to maintain the sexual ardour right the way through even with the possible 'Preying Mantis" scenario at the finale. hi, i to have the miri coil lol . it was agony having the dam thing fitted but has been great since.
i havent had a period as such since having it fitted but before the coil i found when i was on was always when i was the horniest. most guys ive been involved with have thought it was out of the question to have sex during a period, but this had alteria motives as they were always the ones who would sugest having anal at this time of the month confused

I'm very lucky.
None of my long term wives/long term partners have ever suffered from PMS/PMT.
I have, the kids did, the pets did. Anyone that came into contact with them did, but they themselves? No. Never!!
And with MkII it was the week before, the week of and the week after. That was fun??
I've just had a kwik replay in my head and I do actually think I have been lucky as in reality, most of my partners have actually been more horny during 'blob week' (i did get a smack for that calling it that once)
It never bothered me when I was younger, but I think when I return to playing 'full time' as it were, I'll be using condoms as I would if i was with a regular partner while she was on.

I can sympathise with you here Dawn :therethere:
When I was younger I suffered horrific periods, on for about 3 weeks off for one and very painful and messy. I never felt remotely horny during this time and the suggestion of sex would have had me running a mile.
It took a long while to find the right pill that regulated me and made my periods very regular and nice and light - YAY for Science.
I think this is why I no longer find it a bar for Tim and I, and I'm probably always horny because I can be now....if that makes sense.
