I doubt that it's dangerous unless you have an allergy to ...well....stinging nettles 
however it has about the same appeal for me as lightly toasting me whumpa in the home cook bagel machine :shock:
If it's a bit of what you fancy then why not, perhaps it might be best to go pick a good size bunch first and give yourself a light thrashing with them just to make sure there is no bad reactions.

Actually I was going out with a girl once a long time ago, and we did something similar to this.
