Hi all
I think I posted here about this a couple of years ago but my Monday limited brain cannot find it using the search facility!!
Anyway, I had a rather heated discussion over the weekend about men using sex toys. The gist of the discussion went as follows:
Me: Have you ever been out with a guy who owned any sex toys?
My (F) friend: Ewww, how gross! I'd never go out with any guy like that.
Me: But you've got at least one. I know 'cos I was with you when you bought it!!
My (F) friend: That's completely different.
Me: How come, to use a pun?
My (F) friend: It just is.
Me: It never "just is".
My (F) friend: Well it is on this occasion!
Me: Ok, so why is it gross for a guy to use one and not for a woman?
My (F) friend: It's just a horrible thought a guy using some sex doll to get off on.
Me: But there are more than just sex dolls for guys. Have a look at any toy website and you'll see the variety available. Anyway, what would you think about a girl using a "male" sex doll?
My (F) friend: There's no such things.
Me: I think you'll find there are. Certainly not as commonly available as the Rabbit series, but they are there if you look for them.
My (F) friend: Not the point, and anyway, I still think it's gross.
And that, in brief, is how it drunkenly started and ended over several glasses of rather good wine It brought back a conversation I had in Ann Summers (other sex shops are available) about two years ago with one of the sales assistants. I was looking for a Fleshlight or equivalent (other equivalents are available) but she told me that they were not allowed to sell them, due to some local legislation. How sexist is that?!
Anyway, I was wondering if, in this liberated day and age, other people have any strong views, pro or anti my friend. Or me, for that matter?!?!?!
