As it happens, on this occasion you have maybe served us all with a timely reminder that we should always beware of those who would seek to pull the wool over the eyes of the more honest, upright, trusting members of this website, because not everything is as it sometimes appears.
I remember only too well the shock I felt upon reading Pololady's suggestion that there may be those among us whose scruples leave something to be desired. So incredulous was I in fact, that as the forum's resident science type person at that time, I actually embarked, at great personal expense I might add, on a long and thorough investigation of claims that, I must confess, I believed to be entirely without foundation.
Alas, it was with a growing sense of shock and disbelief that I finally alighted on the truth of the matter, and it was with a heavy heart that I presented my findings to the world in this damning, scathing report. My trust in the essential decency and honesty of internet users has never quite recovered from it.
