Suggestions welcome on the best prevention application for shaving rash?
I have tried allsorts of creams, oils, lotions and potions, but every now and then they just all seem to fail. Have you found the perfect solution????
I hate shaving and will only resort to it in an emergency. I wax ... it's clean leaves no rash and lasts longer. The more you do it the less it hurts as well!

Waxing is the only thing I have not tried - it can't hurt as much as epilating and i have done that a few times.

It does "hurt" but it's a split second hurt rather than a proplonged one. I've never eplated so can't compare.

I had the bit between my eyebrows (or the middle of my unibrow, if you insist on total accuracy) waxed once. Never ever ever again. No no no no no no no no. How do women do it?
To avoid shaving rash you have to make sure that you exfoliate before, always use a new razor everytime and smooth on aloe vera gel afterwards.... Works for me smile

i honestly belive its down to the products you use.
i think you get what you pay for whith shaving stuff cheap razors and foam with give bad results!
i have often been compliment on my "smooth as a babys bottom......."
cough cough
i use a exfoliating wash with a shower mitt first. then i use shaving gel not foam and put loads on.
i use a brand new venus razor each time and shave in each direction to get all the growth.
finally after rinsing and patting dry i smnother in an unscented and sensitive body lotion. i have found vaseline intensive care is good.
I've tryed everything, i find the best thing is to use some kind of shaving oil or baby oil to shave with but it still don't work 100% confused
i also find that it you shave when the hairs not really grown back much like the next day or two the rash is really bad

I use a ladies gel with Aloe Vera and smooth baby lotion on afterwards. Does the trick for me
If you don't have shaving gel then a gentle hair conditioner works just as well, leaves your skin soft too biggrin

I accidently forgot to shave my armpits one weekend - even tho the hair was less than a quarter of a millimetre long, I still had to suffer a whole weekend of having "99 red balloons" (who remembers Nena?) sung at me every time I walked past my partner mad rolleyes
I still haven't found the cure for the rash confused Sometimes I get it, sometimes not - in fact it's sods law that I get it if going to a club  If staying in, usually smoother than a really smooth thing

smackbottom lol
i think many of the posters have hit the point already... but ill share some of my secrets to smooth and unblemished nether reigons
aloe vera
mach 3 gents razors
unfragranced mens aftershave balm... sensitive formula
much of it is gonna depend on the angle of your razor at times.... therefore i always recommend someone who is well practised doing it for you until you get the perfect technique and your skin has become smoother anyway from the products.
For me its......
Hot bath (To open the pores)
Mach 3 (mens) and Gillette Sensitive wiv Aloe Vera
Cool Water to close the pores
Then after Balm
Always works but ALWAYS depends on the individuals skin !
Better also if i shave every other day or 1 in 3 for better results smile
Nivea cream is great....
Evening primrose oil for particularly bad "burn"

Scissors

true...
its always a good idea to trim the hair down to very short with scissors... then apply the foam and shave...... it reduces drag on the razor... which causes the discomfort.
again.... previous experience is a must...........and another pair of hands- an advantage!!!!

confused ........preferably NOT after a night on the booze so not got the shakes ! :giggle:
Just as an aside and totally uninteresting bollocks.........don't read if you are squeamish
The American Indians pluck their hair during puberty, which results in a shave free face.
I attempted to wax my chest rather badly once and ended up with a field of whiteheads. Pretty ghastly to see. But not quite as bad as popping a warble fly pupa from the back of a cow.
Told you it was gross..
Keep plucking.................
Got say shave king of shaves now even the gf uses it smooth as a babys bum
I used to use the women's version of that 'King of Shaves' stuff and thought it pretty good....but, for, some reason, all the shops have stopped selling it now
But the Mach3 thing has given me a thought...Media has one of those in the bathroom, does anyone think he'll notice? wink lol
