Personally i think it's more of a thing if like me you're a legs and arse fan. There's something really sexy about high heels and how they make the calf muscles come out more and give the legs a better shape. Plus the butt looks firmer too.
I guess there's also a bit of the submissive element too, as it kinda puts the girl on a 'pedestal', to be looked up at and admired.

As my handle implies, I like plimsolls - they look better on women though - actually they are making a bit of a comeback nowadays since being almost knocked out by "trainers" in the 1970s.
