I like it when someone makes a good point or gives good information in an elegant and articulate way. If this can be done in a few words, its even more fun.

I found that when the advertiser writes back to say they are interested, in some cases thay said very little about themselves.

I do just that - write very little.
Quote by duncanlondon
i think it is because the advertiser thinks it is not necessary.

Completely wrong!
It is just the way I reply - I find it hard to write tons about myself, in fact if there are no specific questions I find it hard to write anything about myself at all when it comes to replying to those types of PM's. It is the same with an application form - I just don't know what to write.
Mind you - if we take your veiw point - could it not also be said that people who write lots about themselves are either full of themself and have a whole brass section, never mind about blowing their own trumpet. Or are they trying too hard - people who try too hard worry me - they are either desperate, in a hurry or have something to hide!
Oh - the other reason is....
I am in no rush!

Oh - the other reason is....
I am in no rush!

Exactly, whats the rush.
If someone is keen to meet someone on here, its nice to take a bit of time finding out about them, what they are like, WHAT they like, will they both get on, etc

So why should people need to write long replies then?
Why not let the mystery unravel one question at a time?

Precisely
More fun that way too, finding out a few snippets here and there, getting to know each other a bit more
Builds up the excitement for the meet .... IF that happens

I suppose it depends on who you are writting to, if its a woman then size probably doesn't matter bacuse the cannot measure any way...........they all think 6 inches is 12 because all the blokes they ever talk to tell them its 12.

Well, to be honest mine is definately NOT 12 " sad

Another thought I have just had...
I like people who persevere.
It says more about a person than the volume of their word count.
Nothing worth while in life comes to you on a plate - aside from sunday lunch at a Beefeater.

Well, I am still waiting to get my invite to come and do some cleaning at your place lol

Not that this applies to you NC - but I just thought of something I should have added to that last one...
There is a huge difference between people who persevere and people who just keep bugging you and won't bloody take the subtle hint of "f*ck off"

Yeah I know, some people think that a "f*ck off" is an invitation to keep replying
What part of NO do some people not understand ???

You appear to have your quotes the wrong way around confused
Polo. In some parts of this thread you have replied with a lot more detail and been willing to develop the conversation. So it shows that you do have the ability and interest to do so. I think I learned a bit more about you from your thread.

Is the amount of effort someone puts in to typing their replies a reflection of how much effort they will actually put into the meet? rolleyes

Is this an opinion or have you tested it. If so what was the size of the sample.
I myself like to put lots of effort into my meat
oh, almost forgot

I doubt that very much - you have just modified your assumptions lol
Whether through willed decision or not - all you get in cyber world is a persona, a facet of a complex personality in isolation.
Example: Intorverts appear as extroverts due the the comfort of no actual personal contact at the time of debate. They may appear out going and chatty - even confrontational, because they are not actually talking; they are pressing buttons on a keyboard. Analytical Introverts who normally spend so long considering what they say before they say it can ponder at leisure and have time to contribute - yet in a social situation may appear extremely quiet as they continue to consider the first statement made in the group whilst the rest of the group have moved the conversation on.

If you really want to know more - you could read through some of my longer posts out of the +2400 of them. You will learn more about me, the things I have done, my opinions.... but I doubt even then you would have a clue about my personality type.
lol

It’s true you can chat for hours and message for weeks on a site like this and learn very little. 5 minutes face to face will decide if there is chemistry or not. Don’t you think?

Yes!
