In the times today it said that one of the social workers in volved with baby p was also involved with victoria climie, what a disgrace!!!
I will bet any money you like the head of social services gets a job with another borough.

Call me a cynic if you like but probably be employed by the same borough as a "consultant"

Well at least that smug arrogant woman has left her post. The woman was a pirana. She was also there when the other child was murdered 7 years ago,and she has learnt nothing from that.
She was the head of that dept and sat there with her graph sheet, I found that disgusting. It seems at last some sort of justice will be done for that poor baby. It;s a pity that there will be no criminal charges brought, against the very people who sat back and let an innocent child die in the most horrific of ways.
Will they learn from this? Looking at their incompetence somehow I doubt it.

Sacked? No she hasn't just yet. She is on full pay and will continue to do so until the investigation has been completed. So now the tax payer is paying for two people to do the same job. I like your justice.

Where did I say she has been sacked?
She has left her post....she is still there. That is not the same as being sacked.
All these enquiries and 'sackings' yet the baby is still dead.
Horses and doors spring to mind.

Dont be a silly person, for I know you are not. Argue if you want but use some logic in your arguement please.
Are you really saying that Mr. Balls acted as he has because of the Sun?
Do you not think that baby deserved some sort of justice? Yes the Sun sought justice for the baby, is that so wrong then?
I tell you what let's all forget about the torture and the fact Haringey council have now failed two children, for God forbid we cannot seek to want justice now......can we?

How about after a tial or inquiry? That would be novel, wouldn't it?
The 3 people who killed the child are awaiting sentance after a trial. The employees should be dealt with after a full inquiry.
When has anybody said child P should be swept under a carpet? I have always said wait for an inquiry, not turn into a lynch mob and get led by the nose of the Sun writers.

Since linking to newspapers seems to be the done thing:

I heard on the BBC this morning that 50% of case workers in Haringey were agency workers and googled it to see if I heard right. At least a different view to the Sun and Mail. dunno
This is a part of the article.
But there is another point that I believe needs making alongside this. As we behead our culprits do we stop to consider who will replace them; where the intelligent, well-educated, diligent, passionately dedicated childcare workers we want are going to come from? One of the more shocking facts in the Baby P case is that a large tranche of Haringey's social workers are agency staff, and that is because they find it hard to recruit. So hey, here's an idea. What about those of us sitting in our pleasant offices, returning to our comfortable and comforting homes and families, stop our baying and get ourselves trained up to be the new childcare workers? After all, we know right from wrong.

Do you think that the 50% of workers on Haringey contracts will stay if they have any opportunity to move? Where will this leave the next child at risk in this borough. Anyone here that's shouting so loud for heads to roll willing to retrain to fill the gaps?
Thought not. It's easier to shout from behind a screen.
A good artical but still only a newspaper journalist expressing their opinions....no different to the others out there really. dunno

Exactly.
Oh dear, one down six to go.
Well it's becoming increasingly clear that the Government are doing their level bests to distance themselves from their own culpability in these matters.
A disturbing fact was told me yesterday by my tame solicitor who does a lot of Family cases so is well experienced in these matters.
In the past it cost the local council £150 to bring a case before a judge requesting that an at risk child be taken into social services' protection.
It appears that the Government in their infinite wisdom have raised this £150 fee to... wait for it... yes, it went up to £5,000 in one fell swoop.
So the question to now ask oneself is how likely is it for cash starved councils to bring to the courts borderline cases?
Why am I not surprised to see no-one from the Government being sacked over this sad affair?

The whole Government from the Speaker down should fall on their swords...
It would particularly help matters if the Prime Minister did the decent thing and fell on his in public in Parliament Square
