i was gonna go there but it sothing like £25 per hour per person, ends up being quite expensive!
ive herd its quite good there, i would like to learn snowboarding but it means starting over again, when your good at skiing you can certinly have fun, going back and learning again will be time consuming and expensive,
Oh there's nothing like the real thing. *Jo hankers for snow*......... Anyone fancy a swinging ski trip????
been and watched with certain person off here, what a laugh, but it seemed expensive in my book
i suggest you ring them and check fees hire prices etc
there is a website that has prices, search goolgle for it! called Xscape or somthin..........
Hi prags,
I've been to Xscape. It's great fun! but I'm a skiing and boarding addict. Went with a group of friends in the middle of the day. We took the day off work and spent the whole day there. We were about to head off to Val D'Isere and wanted to get some practice in.
The run is probably no more than 200 metres but has some little jumps. It was fairly quiet during the day in mid Feb so it's proabbaly even quieter now. It's proabbly more fun and use for newbies. I'd only been boarding for two days but it worked well for me because I got a chance to work out wether I was best riding goofie or regular. I also got a chance to practice riding fakey and doing a few jumps. Two of the people I went with are snowboarding instructors and they still had a lot of fun, mainly doing the jumps. We had a skiier with us aswell, she's pretty good but I think she found it a bit dull.
So, In summary: Good for beginners, proabbly good for adavnced boarders who just like to play doing little jumps and tricks, bit dull for advanced skiiers.
Hope this helps.
I was just sittin here watching "The spy who loved me" and a Coors ad came on and it reminded me that Coors were doing a 2hours for the price of one offer at Xscape on their Coors - Extra cold or whatever its called. Don't think it's still runnning but you might be lucky. You might find a pack in one of those corner shops that sells beers that have been in a warehouse for about 2 years.
Bond - great fil BTW. on ITV now.
Blonde girl: "James, dont leave, I need you"
Bond: "England needs me"
CHeesetastic.
the bars are ok
sweatshop for the running fraternity is small but good value
cycle shop crap compared to to local phil corley emporium
cinemas excellent
restaurants varied and good, tho there is a McD!!
10 pin bowling very good
skiing !!??
TOTALLY WEIRD
30m max of slope why waste money on that & v expensive
perfect 4 people who work in london in jobs where they need to spend their time going to & coming from work talking to someone on a mobile phone, but don't actually earn enough money to live in london
as a one off ?
avoid it!!
guess I was wrong then. Must've had a shit time when I actually thought I had a good time. You're right. that is one weird place.
PS. More than 30metres. My first estimate was probably a little OTT. proabbly just over 100metres.
Just looked at website - 175 metres.
You can get uo a good speed if you got the guts to flatten your board and go straight down the fore-line
Yeah, I've been.
I did what someone told me and smeared myself in lard and it all went downhill from there!
i dont think there is much to shoose between MK and castleford - i usually go aevery couple of months to either one of them ( both about the same distance for me!) I have found that MK usually has a few more rails and toys for us boarders.......
Cheap it ain't but its good to just get back on the board after the snow season ends.....
Thought #1 - maybe we should get a SH session together at one of them. Meet in the bar, a couple of dricks, get changed in the (largeish) lockers.....hhmmmm.... could take a while..... on the slopes....... back to the bar...... sounds good? I'd be up for organising something if there are enough takers.... let me know!
Thought 2# - ah yes a swingers week or weekend in the Alps - cheap flights out there... yes like the idea of that - apres ski fun! Any takers on that one too?
We could do one of the later sessions at Xscape - 9pm - 11pm??
