I'm watching a Dispatches documentary about anti-wrinkle cream (think it's a repeat)
Aaaanyway, it is making me think about my skincare routine. I don't think I look after my skin as well as I should in terms of UV protection etc.
Anyone got any recommendations or pointers?!
Always always always wear a moisturiser with a minimum of SPF 15. Even in winter. The elements are the worst culprits for ageing your skin.
Well thats my mantra anyway!
dunno

I've heard it said that there is no point whatsoever paying for expensive skincare products. They say drink water - lots of it, use a simple moisturiser with as few additives as possible apart from sunscreen or use separate sunscreen.
My addition would be to not forget your neck and upper chest - always take your treatment down past your cleavage.
I don't know if you smoke but my mum did and it ruined her skin. No amount of treatment helped.
i use a moisturiser from boots with a protection factor of either 12 or 15 ... cant b bothered to go look lol
its also for sensitive skins
i burn easily but was out in the sun all day saturday and never burned at all so im very pleased with it biggrin
I wash.
Does that count dunno
Yep... the creams they tested pretty much all get a thumbs down!

The ads with Andi McDowell make me laugh. She's been doing them for years but her wrinkles aren't getting any better biggrin
Boots Protect & Perfect, Olay Regenerist, Dior 60/80 (or summat like that!) L'Oreal something, Nivea Q10 & then Simple Moisturiser
It was only a small sample of 5 women for each product though.

But the focus is getting softer! lol
I'm probably going to get lynched here but I am prepared to pay whatever for my skincare. I've very problematic skin in that I have roseacea and dry/sensitive skin.
I've used Decleor in the past but couldn't keep up that expense long term being a student. I'm now using a product called Arbonne which has properties in it for the reduction of the redness in my skin and calms the dryness. The face cream has a built in SPF.
I always do the routine, wash, tone, under eye gel, moisturise and once a week a face mask. I also drink oodles of water and I've been told I abs don't look my age.
You only get one face and I think it should be looked after, and yes years ago soap and water was all that was needed but society has changed, so has diet and pollution.
Who knows if I'm wasting my money or not, but right now my skin feels faaantastico! lol

I totally agree here, its worth the money if it makes you feel good.
The scientists etc change their minds every five mins anyway!

Only not that private :rotflmao:
I would say before you buy any skincare speak to a skincare advisor, I know boots have them. They will be able to talk to you about your skincare needs and skin type.
I use all olay skincare and apart from the odd spot or blemish here and there I have good skin. I do get complemented on it from time to time!

Sleep? Seriously though, there are a lot of traditional remedies that are gradually being proved to work. Loads of them an be made up at home into a water solution (just like tea) or into a light oil like almond oil. You may find something useful in herbal remedy books.

:jagsatwork: Unless you have a recognised medical problem with your skin no amount of 'miracle cream cure' will alleviate your skin
Water, plenty of it with regular excersise & proper eating habits WILL change your complexion for the best
redface getting pregnant can help too but I cant do that bit surprisedops:

any cream will instantly make skin look better and plumper if it was dry to start with.

:jagsatwork: yup... what she said too!
moisturisers do help immensely... but please drink to rehydrate the skin
...& I don't mean alcohol!

yep I drink an abundance of water these days, it helps get rid of my water retention. I've been told though that we should drink room temperature or warm water as ice cold water shocks the gut.

Drinking cold water can help you burn more calories coz body heat is expended as the liquid warms up! biggrin
I use water, seems to work.
Anyone seen the advert for some face cream containing 15% oxygen? Now they're asking you to pay to cover your skin with air - how rediculous is that?
