Has anyone tried skydiving? Found a place near me which is a UK base and thought I might give it a try as part of my try new things in the new year...
Wow. I admire you; I'd be terrified even considering it!
That takes some bottle to do a sky dive.
Only ever wore a parachute when I was gliding and I'm glad I never had to use it.
Make sure you have good insurance.
I'm not sure you can insure against madness...
I fly for fun and life insurance costs are astronomical!
Jumping out of a perfectly serviceable airplane with nothing more than a silk handkerchief must really get the actuaries sphincters in "tight" mode!

id recommended doing it for cancer research.
not sure how much you have to raise now (it was £1000) but its an amazing feeling and you always with someone so your perfectly safe.
ive done quite a few for various reasons and you got nothing to worry about.
Thanks for the feedback, so the general jist seems to be I'm either mad as a hatter or an adrenaline junkie, perhaps both. Cheers Plimboy for the mile high comment, honestly I still need to work on the ground level (but that's another subject...lol). Looks like I'll go for a tandem jump, just got to gather together the testicular fortitude... I'll give you an update when I've got something booked...gulp
well me and oor lass play tricks on each other and i once was gona buy her a parachute jump course and thout it wada been cany funny then i sat and thout buga that she likes her revenge so i passed hehe
I have done a tandem jump, not for charity. .... my ex boyfriend was into sky diving and I kept complaining about hanging around parachute centres so he booked me a jump to stop my moaning!!
It was great ... would do it again without a second thought!!
My father in law is a skydiving instructor and yet Mr Fun aint ever done one!! He said it bores him but I guess thats what happens if you spend all your summers as a child on a drop zone!
