I may have missed this if it's already appreared in an earlier thread and if so apologise and sure someone will point me in the right direction.
On the way to a well known, well organised event a week and a bit ago I stopped off at a petrol station and bought a magazine ( you know - the womany kind of gossip one ).
Just getting to read it all, there's a little article, well a two page spread, yet again with a quote from a spokesman here at SH regarding the article about the whole swining scene and giving three small stories.
Anyone else read this one - and I quote from a ' sexpert ' - " .... swinging could be a positive move". - well, they do know one thing after all smile

I've not seen it. But then again, I can't read.
(the swining stories could be of concern though! )

In a light tickly manner....!
Quite a few magazines and "experts" are now saying that swinging can be OK.
But would we want everybody to be in on this swinging scene? Is it not more "naughty" cos most people don't do it. Certainly wouldn't be as much fun for us if it was as normal as going down the pub for a drink.

Does the increased coverage lately therefor mean this is ( and I may get grief 'cos I can't think of a better way of putting this ) is becoming more sociably accepted now or is there a lot of closet swingers just too afraid to confront it ?

Just so long as there is no organization setting up to forcibly bring swinger out to family and work mates. I'll stay in the closet, not so much room but cosy.
biggrin is that the loveit magazine article?
I think when it comes to sex and our interests most people with never bring everything out of the closet not because they are too afraid to confront it but for other reasons:
1) Sex can be an emotional and intimate event, to tell everyone about it would lessen that.
2) Even though we may be open and honest with some people about our interests (strangely alot of the time we seem to be more open and honest with strangers, as we do here) this doesn't mean we want everyone to know.
3) Even though the majority of people have sex, it still seems to be a uncomfortable subject with a lot of people and telling everyone would probably embarrass them more than you ;) I always get confused by the offense people take when called a "wanker" well yes I do thanks, i'm also an eater, sleeper and talker too!
4)Do we talk to other people about all our interests, I am sure some of my friends are not too interested to hear about my latest computer game or DVD but some are, we talk to those who are interested in what we are interested in. That's why we are here!
I know some of us would not want anyone to find out as it would cause problems with relationships, friends or even jobs, but I expect for most of us we don't tell everyone because:
5) Its not of their business smile

I have mentioned here before, workmates of mine, including one who had a phase of having a string of 1on1's with different men, some of them are appalled at the idea of swinging, and these are nice people NOT horrible bigoted types!

The offence is not in the word but the way it is used. That is just the I feel. I am sure that any word can be use as an insult, you just have to use it that way.
