smokers and non smokers

hi everyone!!!
how is every one gr8 we hope!!!has anyone come accross the grey area that we have...the thing of smokers to meet or not to meet?please can ppl please make it clearer if they are prepared to meet smokers or nonsmokers...as we have had a few meeting called off an hr or so before as they have suddenly realised we are smokers...we state it in our ad....some nonsmokers are happy to meet smokers...if so can you make it clear it would save alot of time wasting and disappointmnt...maybe it is just us that have come across this problem?let us know...cheers and have fun ....luv bruntynshelley xxxxxx

Hi Guys, welcome to the site, we are a smoking (me) and non-smoking (him) couple but have never had any problems. I am not an heavy smoker, unless I am nervous, so if we are meeting people who are non-smokers, I would just wait till I got home. I also carry loads of mints with me so at least my breath smells nice and sweet lol

If you clearly state in your ad that you smoke and then go on to have meetings cancelled, I would have thought it was probably for other reasons - that the other couple got last minute nerves or something?
Surely they would have read your ad properly before making arrangements to meet?
Jon and I don't smoke, but we do say in our ad that we don't object to light smokers. Having said that, I find smokers often suck a mint or chew gum, but the smell of smoke is on their skin and clothes as well and mints don't mask it on there I'm afraid confused

I would expect a fair amount of time between the guy smoking and any action happening. At the very least an hour or so to allow any residue of smell to disipate :undecided:
After all, it's only polite of the smoker to respect the fact that we don't and not sit puffing away like a steam train all night rolleyes

Perhaps if you make it plain to anyone who replies that you smoke, in case they have missed it on the ad, at least they won't go to the trouble of making an arrangement which they are not going to keep and save wasting your time and theirs.

we have stated clearly that we smoke....and do feel that it was last minute nervous ....which if it was just say as some ppl have to go to alot of trouble sorting sitters etc.....at the end of the day it`s all about everyone having fun....but please remember that for some ppl to get a few hours away from home takes a military operation

well to be frank it doesnt bother me if poeple i meet are smokers or not as long as they dont spend all night chuffin and i would expect that if they at my house they would have enough respect not to smoke

I don't care if people smoke or don't smoke. It is of no consequence to me, except when I want a light and don't have one.... then I find that smokers are much more likely to have something to help..... that is, unless I have just picked up a non-smoking arsonist of course :shock:

well, i can say as a smoker, i haveno problem with non-smokers!! lol

seriously though, i agree with the points already mentioned - as well as to add that if i'm at a non-smokers house, it wouldnt even occur to me to light up, i'd hopefully be having too much fun to think about it smile

We're smokers, it does hinder our swinging arrangements, every month Mrs HC has to have a fall of soot!

doesnt really bother me either if people are smoking/non-smoking, personal preference i reckon. as long as people dont blow smoke right in my face without consideration.

I agree with bolton_boss, down to personal preference although I think a lot of people forget to mention it, If you met someone while you were out you'd usually be able to tell without having to ask so could be a reason why people forget to ask online.

Your post made me realise that we hadn't let folk know if we smoked or not. It can be a difficult subject...
I don't smoke but GT does... He'll have to stop smoking though if it stops me getting playful with George Clooney and his Mrs... ;-)

it is gr8 to see such a response to this subject.....maybe we all should help by stating much more clearly on our feelings of meeting up with smokers/nonsmokers....as some nonsmokers are happy to meet up with smokers and others are clearly not....it would help everyone,we would then hopefully find cpls etc that are more suitable for all parties involed....just a bit of honesty really...or it you only wish to meet nonsmokers...please state it...some people do...but so many dont....at the end of the day we all wish to meet like minded people for fun....not to waste time as life is to short anyway...have a good day...take care everyone!!!!

Its not really a problem we have come across to be honest
Pauls quite a heavy smoker and i only smoke when i've had a drink, don't ask why i dunno, i packed up about 13 years ago when i got pregnant with my daughters and even now when i've had a pint i have to have a fag confused

Only time we have even had it mentioned to us was a few years ago a couple came out to our house and when Paul lite a fag up the guy asked him to put it out cause they didn't smoke :?
But i have to admit its not something that bothers me either way, if i'm only meeting someone for sex if they drink, smoke or anything else is not concern of mine

we do respect the wishes of nonsmokers.......we would never just lit up in some one`s home.....that is so rude.....we have friends who are smokers...but their home is a no smoke area.....so we happliy stand in their garden....when we have had guests at our home...and they are nonsmokers we have asked if they mind if we do....if they do we`ll happliy sit in the garden...and that is in our own home......i spose we are asking not to judge us so harshly and write us off,we dont judge other people....and is not as they are living with you....at the end of the day...you might spend afew hours in total together...and any one can last that long without a smoke....we do respect the wishes and feelings of the nonsmoker and thier rights,just seems to be a one way road...any every one have a gr8 day smokers and nonsmokers alike....cheers ...shelley and jason
