Smoking.

I don't smoke, and apart from a little experimentation in my teens, never have. I will admit to quite liking the passing whiff of a freshly cigarette out in the open, probably because Mr Stuff does smoke and has done all the time I've known him. He hasn't smoked indoors for about 7 or 8 years, and has always been a fairly light smoker anyway. I don't like the stale smell on myself or on other people. Also, I don't like kissing someone who has just exhaled from a drag. I usually don't discount smokers from my 'to-do' list, as I always assumed that knowing I don't would make them either refrain from their habit for a few hours, or at least be courteous about the frequency of their indulgences and their behaviour afterwards.
Am I being unreasonable to expect smokers that I agree to meet and play with, to either survive a couple of hours without a puff, or wash the worst of the smell away by drinking a glass of water at the very least if they can't wait that long? I promise to try and keep their minds and hands occupied if that's the issue they have :rascal:
If you smoke, but meet a non-smoker, does it temper your behaviour? How many non-smokers refuse to meet smokers because they are thoughtless in their habit?
My other options have disappeared sad

They were:
1. I smoke, but try to smoke less when meeting non-smokers,
2. I smoke and they can like it or lump it,
3. I don't smoke, but don't mind meeting smokers,
4. I don't smoke and won't meet smokers.
I'd like to know people's opinions, sorry it hasn't worked as a proper poll :(

I do not think you are being unreasonable. Would it be unreasonable to ask someone not to eat garlic? They both hang around.
I do meet smokers, but it is not something I find attractive.
...but I do like garlic, and keep away from it well before planned meets.

We only met one couple who did not smoke.....never again. lol

We knew they did not smoke and they knew we did, so as we met at their home we refrained from smoking.
That is until after about four hours I was gagging for one. So I politely said could I go outside for a fag? they did not seem to have a problem with this but when playing resumed she decided to moan about the smell...( not of me feet either wink

).
It did spoil what up until that point had been a good sexy meet.
Did she really expect me to go without a fag for seven hours, which is how long the meet lasted?
Yes If I was on a plane and obviously could not smoke for that ammount of time, then I would obviously do so but....not at a meet.
So we tend to either stick with smokers or ones that say they do not mind smokers.
I would rather turn a meet down than to have the hassle to be honest.

I've had a go at fixing it but it doesn't seem to have worked......will have to wait for someone cleverer than me to come and fix it!

Mrs Tweeky smokes socially and when on holiday but not on a day to day basis. When she has one I have a few drags on it, I am an ex smoker. So does not really bother us but as Mrs Tweeky likes to smoke when out then I guess people who met us would have to like it or lump it.

I (*Her*) smoke, but when we meet, I am considerate.
If the other person was really against it (alhough can't imagine why they'd meet us if that's the case as i'm open about being a smoker!) then I won't smoke before, during or after the meet until they'd gone, although that would be difficult. I'm not a massive smoker tbh, I smoke a fair amount at work, mainly to get me away from my desk, and only one or two at home in an evening.
Nerves make me worse though lol

Each to their own really. As long as you're upfront about what you want (smoker or non smoker), I guess it's a mute point.

I try to smoke less but frankly after an exciting gigglesome fun session a smoke is just what I need.
I havent had the brass neck to turn up with a selection of pipes and Old Cockgobblers Vanilla and Cherry Blend, maybe I should try.
I have put a packet of tic-tacs in the play bag.

I know not something you maybe all want to hear.
But is this not just another reason to be giving up?
These days there is really no need for people to smoke... There are no benefits, all you do is spend money, damage your health and annoy others.
Now where did I leave my flak jacket and helmet .. lol

tough really.....I do dislike smoking....as a lifetime non smoker....can taste it in the air,...if people smoking..and not a nice taste. Haveing said that i have and do meet with smokers. Almost everyone is considerate..and so not a major problem. However do have to say....if they heavy smokers...you can actually taste the smoke on their skin even.....and no mater how many mints they have.....when you kiss it is still lingering there.

I'm a smoker. I don't have any preference to meeting smokers or non smokers... I generally don't meet anyone!! :lol:
But when I did... I like to think I was a fairly considerate smoker. If I'm spending the night with someone it's rare that I would go without. I would always go outside and I do brush my teeth and have a stash of mints/breath spray/chewing gum kicking about in my handbag.
It's all about preferences yet again. If you're not comfortable meeting smokers then don't. It's not a crime. :thumbup:

The thing is, I actually like smoking. I know that it is bad for me, costs a small fortune and it makes me stink and that is why I am giving up. If I say that I will never have a fag again then it is like a punishment and I then resent the fact that I am giving up. If I say that I may have a fag occasionally at a social then it is my choice and giving up is far easier for me.

I know most smokers here comment on eating mints and chewing gum but as a non-smoker, I don't feel you are achieving much. You can smell it on someone because its on their clothes, skin and in their hair. There is no getting away from it.
Do I meet smokers........I have done but I'm not too sure I would now confused
