I intensely dislike being in a smokey environment and I'd like to as a non-smoker, have rights to my health not being tarnished by someone else's bad habits.
It's an addictive drug and I wish it was banned fully. The actual practicalities of this are near impossible at the moment. I'd rather when I was out I could come home without my clothes, hair, skin and other items smelling of smoke. The health implications for smokers are awful and haivng recently seen a close family member suffer on the end of this, it's heart breaking.
I'm glad a packet of ciggies cost five quid, most of it being tax, and I wish they cost more so less people would do it so readily and more money goes into supporting the health service to look after those with smoking related diseases (hopefully).
It not fair on those around you to make them breathe your smoke. Ban it in all public places regardless asap please. My personal opinion of smoking.

i totally agree with cplbbw on this that smoking should only be banned in eating establishments including pubs with resteraunts i smoke and my wife smokes so for people who go out for a meal theres nothing worse than when your about to tuck into your meal the waft of smoke up your nose and thats from a smokers point of view i class myself as a considerate smoker in the fact that as well as being a cabbie and working in the office at the weekend i donot smoke in my car nor do i smoke in the office if there is another non smoking member of staff present however if a passenger asks if he/she can smoke then 9/10 times i say yes and have one with them (normally gets you a tip) :lol: the only time i refuse is cos some scumbag i av just picked up wants to smoke his joint and the smell of that lingers for a very long time.
its alright all the non smokers saying oh yes this is a victory for us but what they dont realise is that if we all gave up smoking that the amount of tax they pay in their wages would increase by 2 to 3% (government statistic) to make up the shortfall in the revenue.
for me personally i love going down the pub play pool have a bevvy and yes a fag as to be able to do that is my civil right if a non smoker doesnt like it they can always go to the other side of the pub where most pubs have installed extractors and air conditioninganyway thats enough of me harping on about it i personally feel it shouldnt be banned.
