Hello btw wave nice to see ya x
Ps nice to see some changed their passwords - and yes hugsnkises - its not just here we have to think about - so thats a good reminder :-)
Can anyone else join in this Anais - Dawnie thread?! dunno
My password is :censored: lol
Mine's pretty 'strong' already, although it doesn't contain any 'other characters' like @ or #.
Question - is your home PC/laptop password protected? You know, when you switch it on do you have to put a password in to get it going? I do, we have to at work - passwords for bloomin' everything - so it becomes a habit. I've always set a logon password for all my machines. Ex-hubby thought I was hiding something - then he nearly broke my machine trying to get through the password cos he was suspicious - arse-hole. But how common is a domestic computer password?

Yep, all the pc's have log on passwords at home

I'll have you know that nobody knew my password...................except Dawnie, Admin, the newspaper, three websites with numpty passwords top-ten with mine being 3rd and anybody could have taken a random guess to work it out
Dave_Notts
Random passwords are almost impossible to remember.
Any password with a mixture of upper and lower case, numbers and other characters is always better but may be hard to remember.
Any ideas for easy to remember and impossible to guess passwords?
I have one - pick a memorable place (your first dogging experience maybe?) look on a map and use the Ordnance Survey 2 letter & six figure grid reference and add a character from the keyboard like #.
So, an example might be SE556514@ which is the roundabout near where I lived. (Not a password I have ever used btw). You can Google for grid refs or check a map. Cos it means something it's easier to remember - and you can always check it if you forget.
:laughabove:
To be honest it's not too difficult to think up something hard to guess. Just think of a phrase (with numbers in if possible) and use the initial letters. For example (and I never used this as a password) my old username on here was cu3b4ll. It was s'posed to look like cueball, but someone once told me they thought it stood for "see you three before eleven". That's the sort of thing I mean.
And don't try using cu3b4ll as a password 'cos I'll be signing on to everyone's account and trying it later! :jagsatwork:

I built a new PC recently. T'is quite good. Dual cores, decent graphics, shitloads of memory, massive hard drive and triple boots XP, Win7 and Linux. I can even run OSX on it in VMware just so I can occasionally partake of that special sort of smugness common to most Mac users. Gem was well suspicious about me putting passwords on my log-ins, wondered what I had to hide? rolleyes I'm like, this is your account, this one's mine, but you can have me password and use me login if you want. Just remember it's an Admin account, and if you break something I'll not be best pleased. Took me three chuffin' days to build this.
Didn't change my password here. Not especially strong, but it's not a word anyone would easily guess at anyways. 999 out a 1000 people have probably never even heard the word, let alone the variant of it I use, but easy for me to remember. Use it on most forums and websites I'm on, cos frankly, I wouldn't be all that arsed if someone did manage to hack my account on here. T'would hardly be worth their time and effort, but for anything I want to keep properly secure it's capital letters, numbers, and punctuation marks all the way, and as for email addresses associated with an account, I tend to use one email account for website logins and random gubbins, and keep a different account for things I want to be more secure.

I think using your past car reg is a good idea, usually only you would know it.
