Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10. What is the total?

i didnt get any right, but what would you prefer a dumb blonde who can deep throat or someone who can get the questions right, and you made me rush, you cant hurry a good thing you know wink

I got 4 right, does that mean i'm intelligent? I usually get things like that right, i'm not very creative, i tend to stick to the obvious facts. Makes me kind of boring i guess sad

I'm just going to check the other one on my calculator, i can't believe i got one wrong :shock: :shock:

Nice one, I got 2, possibly 3, correct.
The answer to Q2 is not in fact given. It could be you are in the lead, having lapped the last person? Possible? It does at least answer your question. lol

I thought I was good at mental arithmatic, no matter how many times I did it in my head I came up with 5000. Writing it down and adding it up, and, using a calculator to double check the answer. 4100 was the correct total. But I don't understand WHY.

Its the last add 10 which throws you for some reason our brains go from 4090 to 5000 at that point rather than 4100.
Sorry, I tired to work out why I'd got it wrong being a geek and all that...

Possibily but the way the question was framed was such that you probably weren't in the race.
Also if are 1st and you overtake the last person and answered "second to last", you are still wrong as would would remain 1st...

I got 4100 without a calculator, does that make me good at maths?
I concluded from question 2 that I couldn't over take the last person, so that it must be a trick question.
I got one and four right.
Am I officially clever then?
