I think the term you're looking for is "munches" (plural of a munch). You'll find the answer >> here <<, and lots of other useful (?) info over on the left

A social doesnt necessarily have to be in a private venue, it could a club, or a pub, and the organiser has control over who they invite, which can include none site members.
Whereas a munch is only open to regulars of the forums or the chatrooms and is always in a private location, and no people who are banned from the site can attend.
