Last night whilst chatting to a guy in an open room we were suprised to see something bobbing up in the corner of his cam. Now normally quite a few things can be seen bobbing up and down on cams, but this was a bit more unusual. We soon realised that it was his iPhone and that he was actually filming the screen.
Now we've been hanging around this site for eight years and have seen many different things, but this was a first for us. Has anyone else had the same issue?
We don't use the cams or watch them but Sasha does use the chatrooms so whilst this does not apply to us we have heard that this is quite a common occurrence, using phones or cam corders to record the pc screen ir the cam shows that go on in the chatrooms, it is so simple to do, then you can upload them on to your PC for future re-viewing or showing to your mates or even upload onto internet porn sites etc. Some sites will actually pay for the footage, kinda like "Beadle's about".
The footage belongs to the person who possesses it and as the people in the footage have not asked them to sign any contract ruling where or when it is published the law is on the side of the cameraman. Even those statements some people copy and paste into profiles about "you don't have permission etc" arent worth the paper they are not written on as they are unsigned and undated so could have been added at anytime after the usage took place, they were in fact the brainchild of internet information gatherers to see how quickly the statement would spread aroung the world and scene with people copy and pasting it onto profiles, a researcher can use certain words or phrases in the text to zoom in on profile using the statement, words and prhases like "timbuktoo university"
I think it's a bit naive not to realise that this is going on a lot more than perhaps you think it may be.
I work on the basis that if its online it can probably end up being widely distributed.
We are not as stupid as some might think, and we know this kind of thing goes on.
What I was getting at was the blatantness of it. The guy was on cam in a lobby room chatting with ourselves and others and filming it. If I was going to do this I wouldn't be typing with one hand and holding my phone in the other, and even if I did I wouldn't be doing it on cam in front of others.
If you spot anything dodgy like that going on, feel free to contact an Op or report the offender.
I hate people that do anything like this. I hate people that upload this kind of shot to Youtube. The reason for this before touching on the ethical is its crap, cheap and low quality. Rest assured I'll never see the video as any video that shows footage of any TV or monitor screen has me head butting the back button in less than a second. In this day and age anyone can buy a capture card or download a piece of capture software for free. There literally is no need to film the screen so anyone who does must be thick. Add to that that its not a very nice thing to do as well. In all honesty I would say showing faces on cam or doing anything on cam now is highly dangerous if you want to stay anonymous.
TBH, if your prepered to show off on cam, you must be prepered for it to be shown all over the internet.............
Didn't see it going on, but from what I could work out, someone on another swing chat thought it would be amusing to cover their delicates with food and let the dog lick it off.......but only until someone called the plods and recorded the screen feed, fuckwitt!!!
Unfortunately this is the case with the net.
There is no way of stopping it.
So really make sure you know the people as best as you can before camming.
Another reason for not gong on cam
As well as being fooking ugly!!!
:eeek:
