Weve had the favourite movie quotes,so i thought it was time for some great song lyric quotes.
Heres a few favouites of ours to start with........
"All your insides fall to pieces, you just sit there wishing you could still make love"-Radoihead,High and Dry (Clares alltime favourite)
"We hope that your rues and wisdom choke you,now we are one,in everlasting peace"-Radoihead,Exit Music(my favourite Radoihead quote)
"It grows so slowly, but when it dies for good, its called love, and it belongs to everyone but us"-New Order,Thieves Like Us(not their best, but the only good one i could think of)
And a new one by The Killers, which always makes me smile "Somebody told me,you had a boyfriendthat looked like a girlfriend that i had in February"
So now its your turn,everyone.

friggin in the riggin cus theres fuck all else to do
Andrew Eldritch has a way with words, I love the way this chorus swaps meaning at least twice:
"You can stand all night
At a red light anywhere in town
Hailing maries left and right
But none of them slow down"
Sisters of Mercy - "Something Fast"
...and for rhymes you just can't beat:
"I caught something weird in Encenada
I've a brother of sorts in Torquemada
Long distance information
Disconnect me if you can"
Sisters of Mercy - "Detonation Boulevard"
Relax don’t do it
When you want to suck it to it
Relax don’t do it
When you want to cum
Cum-oh oh oh
frankie goes to hollywood
Michael Jackson / Elton John duet..... 'Please let your son go down on me'
On this site I gotta say that my favourite song quote is something like
"Kinky sex makes the world go round" by the Dead Kennedys
or even
"Give me your dirty love, like you might surrender to some dragon in your dreams"
by Frank Zappa.
Oh Christ, if I start on Zappa quotes I'll be here all day.
How about "There's only one way of life, and that's your own" by the Levellers?
I'll return to this topic when I've had a wee think about it. Good topic
On a day like to-day, we passed the time away,
Throwing ""French Letters"" in the sand.
Pat Boone = Lover Letters in the Sand (made No 1 in 19?7)
Fred (the other one)
Yes, Depeche Mode have some great lyrics, "Something to do" for example, which you only realise right at the end is about cross-dressing.
My favourie bit is where they actually get away with this rhyme;
"Promises me I'm as safe as houses
As long as I remember who's wearing to trousers"
in "Never Let me Down Again"
or how about:
"In your room
Where time stands still
Or moves at your will
Will you let the morning come soon
Or will you leave me lying here
In your favourite darkness
Your favourite half-light
Your favourite consciousness
Your favourite slave"
from "in your room"
When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes,
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on silver boy
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
P. Simon, 1969
My best friend sang that to me the other day. I cried buckets.
"You want to call your mother and say mother I can never come home again I seem to have left an important part of my brain somewhere, somewhere in a field in hampshire" - Pulp (Sorted For Es & Whiz)
"Nothings changed but the surrounded bullshit that has grown" - Pearl Jam (Off He Goes)
(Slightly obscure album No Code)
"I got bitches in the living room gettin it on and they aint leavin till six in the morning" - Snoop Doggy Dogg (Gin And Juice)
"F*@k you I wont do you what you tell me, F*@k you I wont do you what you tell me, F*@k you I wont do you what you tell me, F*@k you I wont do you what you tell me, Mother F*@!*r" - Rage Against The Machine (Killing In The Name)
Heres some more great Depeche Mode lyrics-
I can taste more than feel
This burning inside is so real
I can almost lay my hands upon
The warm glow that lingers on
Moved, lifted higher
Moved, my soul's on fire
Moved, by a higher love
I surrender all control
To the desire that consumes me whole
Leads me by the hand to infinity
Lies in wait at the heart of me
Moved, lifted higher
Moved, my soul's on fire
Moved, by a higher love
Heaven bound on the wings of love
There's so much that you can rise above
Moved, lifted higher
Moved, moved, by a higher love
By a higher love

more mode...
"She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She’ll hear me out
And won’t easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she’ll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me"
from "Somebody"
I once sat in a field and watched a lunar eclipse with a boyfriend listening to Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge over troubled water CD ..........
Awesome is about the best word I can use ........
Come with me
Into the trees
We'll lay on the grass
And let the hours pass
Take my hand
Come back to the land
Let's get away
Just for one day
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Metropolis
Has nothing on this
You're breathing in fumes
I taste when we kiss
Take my hand
Come back to the land
Where everything's ours
For a few hours
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me hear you
Make decisions
Without your television
Let me hear you speaking
Just for me
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me hear you speaking
Just for me
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me hear you crying
Just for me
Stripped by The Mode
I nominate this song "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed from his album "Transformer". I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Forget the charity version released a few years ago, you have to hear the original version by Reed which is sung with so much soul it often reduces me to tears.
Lou Reed - Perfect Day
Just a perfect day
drink Sangria in the park
And then later
when it gets dark, we go home
Just a perfect day
feed animals in the zoo
Then later
a movie, too, and then home
Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on
Just a perfect day
problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own
it's such fun
Just a perfect day
you made me forget myself
I thought I was
someone else, someone good
Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on
You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow
You're going to reap just what you sow
Or
A man walks down the street
He says why am I soft in the middle now
Why am I soft in the middle
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard
Bonedigger Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al
Never liked him before but Morrissey's latest offering First of the gang to die, has just got under my skin
THE FIRST OF THE GANG TO DIE
You have never been in love
until you’ve seen the stars
reflect in the reservoirs
and you have never been in love
until you’ve seen the dawn rise
behind the Home For The Blind
we are the Pretty Petty Thieves
and you’re standing on our streets
where Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die / oh my
Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die /oh my
You have never been in love
until you’ve seen sunlight thrown
over smashed human bone
we are the Pretty Petty Thieves
and you’re standing on our streets
where Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die
such a silly boy
Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and a bullet in his gullet
the first Lost Lad under the sod
And he stole from the rich and the poor
and the not-very-rich
and the very poor
and he stole all hearts away
Gilbert
Well for me it got to be pink floyed!
TIME!
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
you fritter and wast the hours in an off hand way
kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
waiting for somone or somthing to show you the way
Tiried of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperatation is the English way
The time is gone the song is over, thought i'd something more to say
you scumbag
you maggott
you cheap lousy faggot
the pogues! lolololololololololololol
