Just listening to a new Half Man Half Biscuit CD 'Trouble over in Bridgewater' in the car laughed out loud at three tracks. Listened to The Ballad of Climie Fisher twice and loved the umper Lumper song.
Not very spiritual but I'm still smiling
loads and loads and loads of tunes that have a pic-me-up factor for me, but one that instantly springs to mind is Sandstorm by Darude.
no matter what mood i'm in this always pumps me up to the limit
That reminds me that I need to make a upbeat playlist... Until I have one here's a random few:
Primal Scream: Movin' On Up
My Bloody Valentine: Feed Me With Your Kiss
Air: All I Need
Spacemen 3: Feel so good
Spiritualized: Electricity
Ultra Vivid Scene: Crash
Ladysmith Back Mambazo: Rain, Rain Beautiful Rain
Lou Reed/Velvets: Perfect Day
Sonic Youth: Dirty Boots
The House of Love: Hope
The Cure: The Love Cats
never mind Choon.... I feel good too... (at least Iiiii think so!)
as for uplifting stuff... don't have any faves as such, but when I hear something unexpectedly, or a forgotten tune comes out of the collection, no matter the lyrics, if the feel is right, I'm *solid gone* for a few minutes at least....
as for some of those forgotten tunes, several mentioned here already...
I tend to join threads like this without putting forward my own suggestions, but blurting out: "oh yeah...that one!" etc etc
B52's... memories... Planet Claire and all that, the whole albumn was fantastic, must get it .... again!!!!!!
and of course the Cure, fantastic band, very much a feel all of their own, and able to produce brilliant pop as well....
Subaculcha; pixies
Robert Smith? He's loverlyyyyyyy. Well, he was then - dunno what he looks like now!
Mad Bob is looking a little more *comfortable*, shall we say...
but hey... when the lippie goes on, and the barnet is well attended too.... he's still got it!
lol
