What part have you ordered?

the pump its self there a L and a N if that means anything to anyone rolleyes
L is live N is neutral
Manofmuchfun, OMG your gonna be busy now....lol
Check the wires in the old bit that is still on the mchine.
Compare them to what you have on the new bit.
If they are the same then thet's a good start.
Make a note of colors and where they go.
MAKE SURE the ELECTRICITY is OFF.

the other washing man left them out thansk anyway
When you have connected it, put in on fast spin and lean against it, if it gives you a thrill then you have done it right lol

right .......L & N ...is live and neutral..........connect brown to L ....ok ? but you may have different colours ......all it will do is send pump one way or other just reverse ok ?

yep the L stands for 'lethal'
the N stands for 'non lethal'
it still don't give you a clue as to which goes on which, but it does add that little bit of extra tension into the decision.
............davej would like to point out he ain't serious and a P.M. to manofmuchfun would be a far more sensible solution

Anyone else read that as "Man of munch fun"?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
DONT MESS ABOUT WITH WIRES
£60 might sound a lot but what price your familys safety?
You'd probably pay £300 fora new machine so its only a small cost .
As I used to be involved in this field I know diy jobs are like timebomes waiting to hapen.
You might get it working, and it seems fine but if it not Professionally connected you could easily cause your whole machine to become 'Live'.
Get a qualified, (ask for proof) engineer/electrician to do it.
One more time
