Hi Everyone.......I don't really talk too much about this sort of stuff but I often see things and hear things when i'm lying in the dark in my room.....I used to be a Charismatic Christian and that means I've done a fair bit of what I suppose you could call Demon Warfare on a Spiritual Sense.....if that makes any sort of sense.
Anyway.....after watching a really insightful film into Demons and Angels I've decided to go to a Spiritualist Church to try and figure out what I see and what it means, if anything.
My question is this: Has anyone ever been to a Spiritualist Church and if so, what's it like and what do they do there during a service?
Any advice and thoughts would be appreciated.
I've been to a spiritualist church a few times and found the atmosphere relaxing, I'm a non-practising catholic BTW.
The service isn't as religious but more about opeing your mind to the possibilities of "the other side" as some have put it.
It's not somewhere I go often but I have been given "messages" more than once, the first time was totally freaky TBH but the last time I went the message I was given settled some things that had been worrying me.
There's only one way to truly find out about things you are curious about in my opinion so go and see what you think.
You must believe in your self, you are you one salvation, after seeing my mother and sister die from cancer god must be an evil basted.
I Have never been to a spiritualist church but I have met with spritualists. From what I gather there are those who attend in the congregation to get messages from the mediums. However if you have a 'gift' yourself, I'm sure the other mediums will help you understand or develop your mediumship. Of course it all depends if you believe in the explanations they give for the phenomenon you see or hear. I don't doubt that you have these or that the spirit world exists, it's just the interpretation of where these spirits are or how they manifest differs from culture to culture. What I am trying to say is look at how other cultures see the spirit world, for example the shamans of north and south America. It's all very interesting and worth getting a rounded view of the spirit world as it's a global phenomena.

Yeah been before and received messages.
A word of advice to anyone going, do not give anything away about yourself - these people are extremly good and picking up body language and very good at suggestion, read up about James Randi. Not saying all are frauds but the vast vast majority of "mediums" (whatever you want to call them) are frauds.
DH, I often have spiritual meets at my place. Had a fabulous meet last Saturday night. If you're interested you're more than welcome to come along.
They are great places to go, they tend not to force stuff down your throat, and give you the chance to explore your Spritual Side with out making you walk before you can run.
It doesn't matter what faith you are, they accept without question. They also have visiting Mediums and such like, and many of the Churches have a Circle, which I think you should partake in.

There are plenty of things to worry about in life as it is. Why go and contact the "other side"? All you'll get is more cr4p.
Just my thoughts.
Wow thanks for everyone's help......I may well just give it a go......
Libra Love, you have a PM hun.....
I have never been to one myself although I have thought about going a few times. I have heard good things about some and bad things about others so its probably best if you keep an open mind when you go. It might be worth trying a couple of different ones to find one you are more comfortable with.

I used to be a member of a sprirital group, after having pre visions of my mums death. (to personal to mention here) PM me if you wish and I'll tell you about it. Anyway the people I met in my particular the group were kind and genuine.
Although I stopped going years ago, it did make me look at life in a different perspective.
