I have this therory..Its not ghosts but tiny "holes" in time and space that small objects fall through. thus you put say, your keys down, they fall through the hole and re- emerge at a later date. It is never big objects. nobody ever "looses" the car or washing machine ?
Some stuff never comes back because its just too small and light and so drifts in time and space so there a planet somewhere where it rains tiny little objects all day long! an you think you have problems!

I've got one you can use. If you use the plug end to entice them you can keep hold of the other and yank it when they 'bite' thus ensnaring them.
Rather than kill them I think the humane thing would be to put them through somebody elses letterbox. Shireens for example.

Its a Samsung 900 Shireen/Steve.
Wouldnt mind only got it on Thursday.... I'll kill him when i get hold of him.....

Ohhh ive lost my car many times, the joy rideing car park goblins move it and have even been known to put it back in a diffrent car park or floor than that im sure i left it at
Luckily havent got car moving goblins at home yet as eldest has only just got her provisional :shock:
