Now then folks, Artificer is excited. No, Sappho has not just knocked on my front door-although she is more than welcome wink -SPRING IS COMING! I 'm not sure if our 'Townie' members would understand but the following have occured in the last few days:
-Frogs are 'singing' in the pond
-Snipe are whistling their 'love calls'
-Foxes have gone quiet (means they are underground, ready for cubs)
-Great Tits are 'coloured up' to impress their partners
-Fieldfares and Redwings are buggeringoff back to their Arctic homes
-Blackthorn is blooming
-Nettles are growing
-Wigeon have stopped whistling
All in all. SPRING is very close. Forgive my excitement, this is the bit of the year which makes it all worhwhile. So, what does it mean to YOU?? Is your sap rising?
Soon be May....tell me friends, does the Spring men as much to you as it does to me?? lol

Springtime,
The time of year when a young mans fancy lightly turns to thoughts of Cricket.

I looked out of my window only this afternoon and thought to myself: man, soon I'll have to start mowing my lawn again.
Afraid I'm a miserable git who hates gardening. :uhoh:
The daffodils are all coming to life amongst the trees in my street!!!
It's lovely...
I'm counting the hours till Mothers Day when all the kids in the street steal them for their mums!!! lol
Back in my previous life, before all this north east lark, I used to work in an 18th century manor house a few miles outside Shrewsbury (right next door to Walford agricultural college, Arti ?) and the sunny days of spring (yep, both of them) would only mean one thing.
You'd be sitting there, trying to work, and all you'd hear is the plaintiff cries of new born lambs in the field next to the manor. Pure cuteness encapsulated.
Strange how the same sound later came to be twisted by Antony Hopkins into "Can you hear the lambs, Clarice"

hi all
We knew spring was cumming and the days were getting warmer because..........
The sound of music(bass )pumping out of the cars going past with the windows open at 12 oclock at night.
The gangs of 15 teen year olds at the local shops are now wearing t-shiets,a sign of things warming up....
And the kids are playing in the street later and late at night...(Gav works nighs)..
We love Birmingham....
Caz&Gav blast
Spring has sprung the grass has rizz,
I wonder where the boidies is,
The little boids is on the wing,
But thats absoid,
The little wings is on the boid.

Anon Bowery poet.
I thought that was worth a chuckle, although you should try and say it with a Bowery accent. lol

Yes, at this morning the birds were singing in the country park.
Last night the layby was deserted except for one gay bloke (and his dog), two doggers and one couple.
Fun was had by all (except the gay guy) (on his own remember)
On the down side, it now means that more peoples thoughts will turn to sex...and more people will drive down to the local to try to find fun.
And for those of you who like walking nude in the park (thanks for last wednesday by the way) it means that you won't get the sharkskin effect !!
Maybe this year will be a lot better than last ?

Well you could get some one like me in to do it for you.
I also do full garden mainternance, with my handbag slung over my arm to put any rubbish in and i can spike the lawn while mowing if i wear my stiletoes, any old stocking can be used to tie up plants, old bra's can be used to keep melons off the ground, old skirts can be draped over tender shrubs to protect from frost.

The first flowers to come out around here are the snowdrops under the headges, then we have the Eranthis or Winter Aconite followed the Crocus with the Daffodils buds just starting to show above ground.

lol You temptress!
It's lovely at the moment - drove down a road this morning, it was beautiful, all the trees were thick with blossom.
The peacock is now in full flow - he spent 4 hours displaying to a clump of snowdrops that had moved in the breeze! Then he cornered a guinea fowl that had got a bit close, poor thing couldn't get away from him after that.
Hmmm who mentioned grass cutting, oooo I hate that. My mower just tends to flatten it, then as soon as you pack it up all the grass springs back up again evil
Yep, Spring is definately in the air..woohoo!!
Just as the spring flowers are thinking about opening, and the buds and the blossom appear on the trees, along comes the gales and the snow and spoils it all sad
Personally I can't wait for the Spring Flower Show at Harrogate, then I know spring has arrived..but then thats just me redface
Spring - YEAH!!!!  The time of year that car heaters become unnecessary and those little walks in the park are not so bloody chilly - it's so hard to take pics with hands that are practically blocks of ice rolleyes
In the spring a young man's fancy,
Lightly turns to thoughts of love.
And the Summer,
And the Autumn,
And the Winter,
See above.
