Ahh, but if the chracters in any drama had read the other authors of the genre, how sjort the stories woud be. Imagine if Poirot had read Miss Marple - apart from anaything else he would recognise half the actors too biggrin:D:D:D
And if Elizabeth Bennet had read Mrs Gaskill - she'd have been ready with a poker to fend off Mr Darcy.
If you want a show that acknowledges the old SF greats then watch re runs of Babylon 5

B5 is a must....and don't worry, it's made in Canada, not the US lol.
The 2nd to 5th series are best.
There is a small town / village just to the west of Newcastle called "Stargate", you wouldn't want to meet some of the creatures that inhabit THAT place, certainly some are from a different universe !!!
John
Only ever saw the original film, thought it was quite good.

Stargate is one of the few follow ons which improve on the film. season one of the series carrys on the story of the film.

So is Stargate - Vancouver in fact. Canada gives tax breaks to all sorts of creative companies - it's a hot-bed of games design companies too.
BTW first episode is just showing on Sky2 - right this minute. biggrin

Well Neil, if memory serves me right there is a place called Cowgate but definately no Stargate!
The thought of a geordie world stargate made me giggle (well it would have to be an alternate universe thou, shouldn't stereotype!) but if you imagining Jack I'm imagining Sam Carter with her knicks around her ankles lying in the gutter and Teal'c - complete with blue star tattooed on his head saying "Slapper indeed"

Funnily enough SinSi, so am I all of a sudden. confused Not quite sure how that happened, but it works for me? ;)
