Im looking to get a club / regular meeting in hastings. Problem is I don't know where to start.
Im new to this and the only experiances I have had so far were all in front of my PC.
Anyone got any idea on how to start these things off? I have a location where the meetings could take place and if I do have to charge a membership, I want to put it back in.
Let me know.
problem is there doesn't seem to be anything in this area. If there is it is a very well kept secret.
With Brighton being just along the coast you have a lot to compete with. You need to go where the peeps go. Brighton it is. or Eastbourne?
Hastings is slowly getting it together but the last time I looked it was still pretty scrappy all round.
Its not so much a club I want to get together with a bar etc. More of a regular meetings thing at members houses, pubs, beach etc.
I do know a great little private hall secluded in the woods which can be hired for £5 Ph!!!!!! would have to bring own drinks though.
Def not wanting to do it as a comercial venture. I would not want to charge. I beive things should be free unless unavoidable costs are inccured (such as a possible charge to hire a hall etc).
I need alcahol. Stuck in my office at the mo. Came in to do some work and have spent all evening on this site.
Munches and meets are arranged through the site all the time.
Just do that. Hire the hall and invite peeps as a munch/meet. This is assuming its not likely to be interrupted by the local scout master.................WI..........................
but you would need to network to get peeps into the area. So that's your hard work cut out.
I was guessing that the hardest part would be finding people to take part. can Imagine 1000 male replys for every 1 female.
Hastings Is awkward Geographicaly. Water to the south, Marshes to the East and Pensioners to the west.
Maybe its time to move
Every club has a catchment area if you take a circle around the venue of five miles anyone falling within this circle will be a possible regular attender....
any one falling within a 20 mile circle can be considered irregular visitors....
and anything falling out side a 50 mile circle could be considered as rarely visiting...
and the problem with starting a club on the coast is that unless you got a lot of mermaid members most of your catchment area is the sea..!!..
