I accept, im one of the worst for hijacks, and inane smartarse comments, and that will never change, yes, I, like others should maybe sit back and think before posting, including the steam room, but I have only a couple of times let off steam in there, and from that, PM's came into my inbox with some advice, and for that, I am grateful
Someone may read someones rant, and realise they have either been there before, or know some info the poster could make use of, but doesnt want to say it in public.
But if someone doesnt feel a whole thread is justified in putting that rant up in the first place, they may never have got their answer, wheras a single post in the steam room would be enough
So my preference would be for it to stay

I should have put mindless crap in quotation marks as I was quoting somebody else but still think Chatrooms are crass - feel have got worse as membership has grown - just too many single guys who should be booted out! Probably surprised by my comment because living by the sea makes me such a mellow person!

In my time as a chatroom op here some of the crassest(is that a word?) most vulgar comments I have heard have come from women ;-) and many women on cam are guilty of following the directors requests which is just as bad and they are certainly as capable of whispering without permission....
To single out the single males for these actions is rather unfair....

We deal with everyone who breaks the rules wither they are single guys, couples or whatever.
But we only deal with people that break the rules when they break them, and not before.
Mostly when we deal with them they take the hint and become upstanding members, we get the odd few who are not in that category and we and admin deal with them accordingly.
Its a fact of life that there are people who don't like to follow rules.
But the majority of the members are on this site to have fun and have a laugh at the end of a hard days work and we, the mods and the admin are here to insure that they do so with as less hassle as possible

It's nothing to do with whether it is about swinging or not... my reference to pointless crap relates to the short one liners which explain nothing - so can't lead to any discussion or advice (as I think you suggest some do).
But as I said - it keeps it out of the rest of the Cafe.... or at least reduces the spread.

Keep the steam room, it will keep rants out of the main threads and like someone who mentioned before it's nice to see 'there there' replies, we'd seem a heartless bunch if no one replied to such rants in a positive friendly way.
Those who don't like it, don't go in there. Simple as.
