Isn't it amazing how headline writers capture peoples imagination....or is it like me..you have a dirty mind biggrin
Well sorry to disappoint you but in this instance I'm actually looking for help from all you worldly wise people out there!!
My problem is simple! I am in the process of building a Gazebo to cover a hot tub.....the sides will be open to allow all that summer sun, or indeed, allow that moonlight to shine in.....(much better)... However, with our wonderful British winters there is just a chance of a spot of rain every now and again which will affect its use....What I intended to do was to fix a series of track hung curtains around the outside which can be pulled open or closed, or removed in the summer altogether..Trouble is, as hard as I have searched, using any number of search engines, I can't seem to locate a suitable supplier. Those that I have seen are a standard size for a particular model.....
So I am hoping someone out there will be able to point me in the right direction....The fabric obviously has to be fairly stiff and definitely weatherproof......If not curtains....I would also be happy just to locate a suitable material, I am sure I could find a wench to run them up for me......Whoops (chauvenist tendencies coming to the fore) ...Only joking......so all you Doms out there...put those whips back down........
Thanks for reading this......and hope someone can assist .....
First one to come up with the answer gets to dip their toe in the tub
What about just worrying about the weather proof bit - and sewing some lead curtain weights around the bottom to give it the weight to stop them flapping around in the breeze?
Or
Get a dome tent big enough to go over the top of it, then you can take up camping as well!
Or
Put up with it you fussy git! Your going to be wet anyway, what bloody difference will the rain make!
lol

It seems obvious to me, but perhaps that's because I work next door to a supplier (there are lots of them down this way!) but what about the material they make sails out of (presumably canvas, or perhaps they have more modern material available now?). It'll be waterproof, if treated, and shouldn't bio-degrade in sunlight too quickly. You should also be able to get a variety of colours. wink
Mandy
We are sailing...
lol
I just knew you would prove soooooooo helpful....... smile
I can see you don't want that toe dipped......
Next you'll suggest I just purchase an extra large roll of clingfilm and wrap it around and around......... :)
Any more bright

Nah, you don't want to do that, it makes you dizzy - you should also avoid it if you're prone to vertigo!! :silly: ;)
Mandy
Thanks Mandy
Good to see someone is taking my problem seriously.....and knows the difference between rainwater and hot tub water......
One is cold and one is hot...........Hmmmm rings a bell....one is kit and one is kat wink

Mandy
You can run, but you can't hide!
Dear Mjb
Here is the rub from the Croydon branch of Gangbangs R Us:
What you need (IMHO) is a pond liner. You can buy it by the meter so I gather. They don't come in nice colours but they sure as hell is waterproof! :smile2:
Any fairly good garden or aquatic suppliers will point you in the right direction.
Hxx
Ah, Heather is obviously another person who has been round the block a few times and knows lots of stuff too

Ahhhhhh thanks Heather.........and I might even get myself a few koi carp while I am there.......I hear they don't mind pond liners as curtain...so long as they are black........
Geeeeee I never knew there were soooooo many helpful people out there!!!! lol
Hmmm I can see I am going to have to let the little woman out of the cupboard and get her on that spinning jenny :P

No, I just get around too many message boards... rolleyes
In my cyber travels I've come across people who can solve everything from dodgy P.C.s to wall paper stain removel. Lineone One used to have a rather good forum called 'Curry Clinic' where you could learn to knock up a dead impressive Balti AND get some great racing tips. I won a tenner on the winner of the 2001 Derby.
Makes me wonder how our Mums and Dads ever learned anything of value rotflmao
Hxx
Walks away in abandoned despair, muttering profanities to himself, wondering if maybe everyone be he has lost the thread of his much sought after information.
Now where did I leave the little woman??????
Just adding to the other ideas proffered, albeit I'm expecting a similar response confused
I have to agree with Mandy's suggestion of using sail cloth, if you are insistent on attaching curtains to your home-made gazebo. That said, there are a number of gazebos on the market with removable sides. Would it not be easier to adapt one of those?
Shuffles off muttering, that he's glad to see shuffling and muttering are alive and well in MJB's part of the world
