ok . . . i've had a little think, and i can see how this might have a certain appeal . . .
is it a bit like someone who goes to their local dogging site, hides in the bushes, and watches, getting his thrill from the fact that they don't know he's watching what they get up to from the sidelines?
i can see how that might have an appeal to some . . . . i understand that . . . i don't have an issue with that . . . . but surely that's a very limited and specialist kind of voyeurism? the problem with appealing to a minority, specialist kind of fetish, is that it has the potential to turn off vast swathes of this community, which could make the whole idea of a pay-to-view cam room redundant? i.e. for the small amount of revenue generated, the site stands to lose a whole lot more, if 80% of the site have an issue with it, and turn off their cams??

The logic behind stealth mode is to make more brass for the admin...like what was said around about 4-5 months ago by many long standing members when this " I.T." company took over, and they gave all us registered members a years free membership....I bet that will change come December (if my memory serves me correct) !!!
They are in it for the money and the site will suffer.... for a load of crap as a upgrade....BOLLOX to that...scrap the stealth cam and the crap that comes with it !!!

St3v3's response in the other thread was that admin thought it sounded good as an option, although it doesn't really offer much of an additional service.
He also says that everyone in the room is listed and viewable.
So for members camming, rather than waiting for the eye icon to display before you shut your camera down because you don't want that person watching, you will have to turn your camera off as soon as you see them listed in the room with the extra logo by their name as that identifies them as having the ability to watch you without the eye icon.
If they don't have the extra logo identifying them as someone who has paid the extra then they can't watch your cam without the eye icon coming up, at which point you would turn the cam off
So I understand that to mean you can identify anyone who has stealth ability very easily thus giving you the option to turn your cam off immediately on their entry to the room you are camming in.
So as well as looking for unwanted eye icons you also have to look for unwanted extra logos, is that really such a huge additional chore?
That's a genuine question by the way as I rarely go into chat and don't cam, but if looking for an additional icon is the most inconvience that it puts non upgraded members to, then I can't see admin scrapping a paid for service on that basis alone.

It is just possible, 'admin' want everyone to air their views before they make any more comments.
At the moment approx. 70 people have voted in this poll, which is hardly (IMHO) a good repensation of all the peole on this site.
And as has been said elsewhere, why is the chatroom being discussed in the forum?? If it had been a normal 'help I cannot get into the chat room' it would have been locked long ago.............
As I said yesterday in another thread, cammers always have the option of turning off their cams..............ops are always in sleath mode anyway...................
