Can you not see the main bug bear is the removal of choice for those people who choose not to pay extra and "go stealth" from who is and who is not seeing the cam without having to go through the arduous task of hand selecting people for a private room cam thing? rolleyes

I've been in the rooms when people I've known on the forums or socially have been camming. I know that they prefer people they know not to watch them, so out of respect I don't click their cam unless invited to.
Not everyone holds this same ethos and I do agree with one point you made about removing the camming all together. I do feel while it is a good source of fun and laughs quite a double standard to ban all adult photos on the forums but cammers can do pretty much whatever they want. dunno

Any system is open to abuse but admin have to be careful not to encourage this abuse to happen in a way where creeping around is deemed normal. If its that normal, why not get rid of the eye symbol collectively, why do you have to pay to have this "feature"?

When Ops are in the rooms, they are already in 'stealth' mode - nobody can tell which cam they are watching. If it was such a big deal, why hasn't anyone kicked off about that?
If Admin decided to include in the 'Extras' option, the ability to 'block' viewers, how many would pay for that?
Bearing in mind how many people actually use chat, although this is quite a vociferous thread, not many have either voted for or against, compared with the total number of actual users.
I have no feelings one way or another on this, just see it going round in circles.

It is a huge chore ............ if you are on dial up the rooms are slow anyway ........ sometimes I cant scroll down the list to see who is in ............... if you are in a room with 70 people .......... it takes forever ............ new entries to the room do not appear in any order ......... the list of names is not in an alphabetical order ........... you cant view all 70 names on the same screen............It doesnt flag when someone new enters ........... so you would constantly be going up and down the list to see who is new and working out if they can do the stealth thingy .
All you have to do at the moment is look for the eyes and read the nick !!

But all you have to do with the Extra users, is look for a tick! If you dont know them, turn off the cam.

Im sorry but I really cant see the problem with it all. We didnt have cams before December and half of the people in chat complained when cams were allowed, but before long people thought they were brilliant and were spending loads of time in chat camming each other. Soon got used to using the thing they disliked so much when it was introduced. confused

Now something new has been introduced and again, people are complaining about it, saying its wrong, shouldnt be allowed, just the same as they did when the new chat room and cam system went on line back in December.
And dont say this is different, it is no different what so ever! If there are 70 people in a room I very much doubt that anyone knows all 70. Ok so they look for the eye, but all they need to do is look for a tick! If they dont know the person, turn off the cam!

PL that is because we had reports on people using illegal substances on cam, it is fairly obvious that if we are showing as watching people are going to stop what they are doing.
As it happens, we have caught many people doing things that break the AUPs.
If I am watching a cam for any other reason than that, I would tell you by shouts of "look at the baps on that" :lol2:

Honestly.... no, I just don't get it.
I see people either getting wound up by the removal of a 'choice' they never really had in the first place or getting wound up by a choice they still have.
If people want to retain control over who is watching them - the only answer is to use a private room. However, the reasons being given why this is not a suitable option are in fact a demonstration that they have no idea who is watching them anyway.

Yes Polo it does !
But an eye means they are watching me .............. a Tick means they are in Stealth mode and could be watching anyone !
In my humble opinion its about honesty ........... why would anyone want to hide the fact that they are watching someones Cam ?
I just find the whole thing creepy ......... not because I show ........ coz the only thing you will ever see on my cam is from the shoulders up !!
But I dont object to anyone who does show .......... I just think we all have the right to know who is watching.

Maybe not PL but I explained why OPs have the facility and believe me when I say we have caught many out with it.
I happen to chat and cam fairly often under another name so do not always have the facility anyway rolleyes

Someone else mentioned this one - but I saw the point of it this afternoon....
I went into a chatroom earlier today where there were a few folks who had cams on. I am a woman and therefore nosey by nature. I click on a cam - I rarely watch people beyond a quick glimps (and if it is some guy wanking I click the fuck off of it at lightening speed - ferkin' wankers!). However, the fact that I have took a peak at the persons cam seems to make them think they then have the right to start whispering and keep bloody whispering and whisper some more and send PM's and a winks.
At this point I had to leave the chatroom before I ended up just telling the twats to 'fluck off' and found myself thinking "now there is a time stealth would be useful". Not because I am some creepy perv stalker, but just to avoid the hassel - especially when you take a look at someone on cam and they turn out to be a right minger! lol
