O2 (voiced by Sean Bean - who could resist?) keeps advertising an offer where they send you 4 sim cards you are supposed to share with your friends.
What the God's Googlies is that about? Why on Earth would anyone want a random sim card? If they have a phone they already have a sim card - and replacing it will mean they have to tell everyone a new number. If they don't have a phone the sim card is just so much litter.
As far as I can see the only people that need 4 random sim cards to share are terrorists, drug dealers and rings.
Or am I missing something?
I think the idea is you get free or cheaper calls to people on the same network, so giving them to your most frequent calls means you all pay less (and O2 get some moolah out of you all for the non O2 calls)
im on 02, so is my fella and kids (not because of this offer may i add, just because we get best signal in our area.
if we all top up £15 per month, then we get free calls and free texts unlimited to any other 02 numbers.
its works for us than a contract and means we can get hold of the kids and vice versa without worrying about call costs etc.
wouldnt have joined this because of the free sim offer but i suppose if any family/friends are with different companies and put £15 or more onto their phone every month then its worth doing.
not sure, but you maybe able to keep your own number when swapping over?
maybe someone else knows the answer to this.
I don't like giving out my own mobile number to members of this site because I dont want my kids to see naughty pics and texts when they are playing games on my phone, so I had an old mobile and got the free sims from 02 simply because it was easier than going to a shop and getting one.
I now have a phone which I hide away from the kids and we can freely give out a mobile number, chat to people on here, send and receive pics, etc.
There are also soooo many people on 02 that the £10 I put onto the phone has lasted months and hardly been touched as you get free texts to others on 02 (and we have used it a lot).
So I say thanks 02 for helping me to swing more freely!!! :bounce:
Mrs Fun xx
we are on o2 as well and for just under 20 quid a mth we get free calls and texts to all o2 users plus 600 free texts to any other network plus 800 free minutes to any other network.
