Try a couple of the other channels - we have Great Migrations (or similar name) fab images, Time Team was on weekly until this week, as was Downton Abbey, House on Sky1, Garrow's Law starts next week, Making Scotland's Landscape was gorgeous and fascinating and is a series, Top Gear for the petrol-heads - the list goes on. If you only have terrestrial you may be limited, but everyone (I think) can get a range of free digital channels (freesat?) so there should be more than the basic 5 for just about everyone.
OK there is a lot of crap out there - Strictly X-rated Celebrity get me out of dancing on ice with my dog or whatever it is this time, and there are some rubbish game shows (why isn't Noel Edmunds dead yet?), but to say there is nothing worth watching apart from Countyfile is a bit thin.
Personally, I would love to pay for and get only those channels I actually want to see, then I won't need to scroll through 2x as many channels of unwatchable crap while looking for something I fancy watching. The youngest person in this house is 23 - but we have to have Cbbebies - why? About 15 God channels (various gods btw, right next to each other LOL), and goodness knows how many other 'shopping' and 'celebrity this and that' channels and even more kid channels. Sheesh - what a waste of broadcasting effort. Come one Sky/Virgin etc - give us a filter.
each to their own:
I love x factor...and yipee I'm a celebrity is back.
At a week-end I do not want to tax me grey matter...I just want to kick off me socks and chill with a glass of rose wine and a few crisps !!!!
I'm not big lover of Telly anyway, but i do watch occasionally but 9/10 it tends to be DAVE or Gold, which are all the repeats of old stuff. i have to have my fix of the Likes of Top Gear, Father Ted, Black books and mock the week.
i thinks a lot of these quiz shows are now running out of NEW ideas, and they have attempted to bring back olds shows but not worked, they tried it with Bullseye and Kryton Factor, two great shows when they were on years ago, but i couldnt watch them because they wasnt the same with out Gordon or Jim.
maybe they need to bring back Noels House Party back, or TFI Friday.
Sunday night telly? No idea. Not a clue. We were out swinging till the wee hours ::grin:
Seriously tho - much like the Tweeky's, we rarely watch "live" telly. We record whole series (or download them) and watch them back to back. No adverts either. What we want, when we want it.
*Her*
sky plus is the best gadget in the last ten years we watch what we want when we want and flick thru the adverts

I've more TV than I ever had and watch much less than I ever have too. Like Tweeky I use the V Plus to hoover up what I want to watch and then I watch it when it's convenient for me.
I was having a chat the other day though about this very subject. Remember the excitement of the run up to Xmas, Finally you could see the Bond film from the previous year, Morcambe and Wise, The 2 Ronnies, The Muppets. Ah good times indeed my friends.
Nostalgia aint what it used to be
**sighs**
yep its normally crap tv but then this sunday itv3 was a programme called aberts memorial starring david jason
just my opinion but it was brilliant (what a refreshing change for tv)
And they say that French TV is bad!
Sunday night viewing for me was all about the "business" type drama shows, The Brothers, Howards Way etc which really made you want to go into work the next day and kick the shit out of someone to get them working.
