I think it's wrong to single him out as such though. There are people out there with just the same or even worse who cope with their lives. Yet they don't have a world of support, horrendous amounts of money for treatment or indeed access to the best treatment there is. For me it's those people that have to fight so much harder and deserve far more respect, yet people never think of them because they weren't in movies.

Or it could be the fact that were not all aware of these individuals.I can only respect the people that i am aware of,he's not the only person on the planet that i respect, but this thread is about him is it not??
Ok Friuty.... you got me on that one they do look like sisters!

Offence has been taken, not a very tactful remark now is it.

In support of Fruity
Here we go ! "Don't speak ill of the dead" That's right up there will all the other stupid sayings we have, like "expect the unexpected"
If Fruity or anyone thinks he looks plastic, why should that change because the guy died?
How is it that when a miserable, anti social, selfish old git (not Reeve) dies; they suddenly become a lovable rogue- or something such similar.
We're all gunna die - it's just a question of how and when.
I for one hope I'm remembered for who and how I was - good and bad - not how people would have liked me to have been ffs.
We all have our opinions. Or have the PC Brigade stopped that too???
And if Elizabeth Taylor has any more facelifts - she'll have a flucking beard !!

He could fly, and now he's dead
RIP
But really that shouldn't have any bearing on the statement. Either saying someone in a wheelchair looks plastic is offensive or it isn't.
The fact it's a guy who used to act in movies should be irrelevant.
As also should be the fact of whether they are alive or dead, both incidental.
Isn’t him being in a wheelchair incidental, it's not the wheelchair that makes him look plastic, it's the hair cut and the colour of his skin from treatments. When I had chemo I went a horrible shade of yellow for 3 days after so? He doesn’t look well in the picture, he does indeed look somewhat plastic and he is now dead and out of pain.

No offence but is it just me or does he look kind of plastic in that picture??
Kinda a bit like maybe one of ant and dec in one of their mad disguises??

Personally I think he does look a bit plastic, or maybe like something out of Startrek Voyager (was he ever in Startrek..???).
However, anyone that can look that plastic and still manage to pull a honey like that must deserve some sort of respect......
What I would like to know is why the Karate Kid (aka Danny Russo) is in the picture????
Were they collaborating on a new movie??
wink

There was a thread on here from a disabled person askin if they could join and alot of people replied saying yeah of course you can, as did i,
fantastic example we are setting now for them.
Opinion is one thing that everyone is entitled too and shoud be used with tact and tastefulness especially on a thread.

Yep, fair point.
I jumped to the conclusion you were just singling him out for sympathy as a lot of people do do.
I didn't think that one through. Sorry.

So if he wasnt disabled and we said he looked plasticy that would be ok in your opinion??
Sorry guys, this thread is distasteful and I've had a complaint about it already, and probably more will come in when others log on tonight.
The guy is dead, let's respect him and his loved oes, OK
Thread locked.
