At work yesterday, i had a rare trek onto the shop floor of one of our companies stores(I am usually 'behind the scenes' with the other warthog lookalikes). As I walked towards the door a customer approached me and asked ,
"do you have any radio microphones", I replied that I thought we had, to which he uttered one word..."sure" he said. I explained that I wasn't 100% sure as i didn't usually work on the shopfloor but i would be happy to look for him.
He then exlplained to me that 'SHURE' (I looked the spelling up) was a brand name, and apperently the industry standard in radio mic's......... god did i feel stupid.....
So I got around to wondering how many other people had made 'cock ups' of this nature, simply by not knowing something that others would take for granted ?

In my day with the Bumbling Fumbling Braodcasting Service (BFBS) I used two SMG 204Bs cardiod/directional, from what I can remember from the days of cats whiskers and bottles, doing OB,s on a part time basis for the FES.

I was in the same line for a number of years I use to fix the stuff that bands had destroyed we also used to take in ordinary house HiFi. And to tell the story again...
The guy I used to work for was asked by a lady customer for the repaired HiFi, he came to the workshop door to announce in a loud voice, and without thinking,
'has anyone seen this womans bush'
the laughter was deafening.....still makes me chuckle
