What, you think I sat here and counted them? Nah, I just realised that there's only two ways the 100th post could be at the top of a page, and I don't know any forums that have 33 or 99 posts to a page.
OK, you're right, I'm getting my coat. bolt

You have won the prize for stirring. To collect your prize..................
Make your own way to Canada, where you will be presented with a Giant Red Oak and a very small penknife. You will be chained to the aforementioned tree and not released until you have carved a 150 foot stirring spoon.

SH is many things to many people, but it can never be all things to all people.
For example:
I like navel gazing, I like labeling. I use them to make sense of the world around me, and ed to do thatt to feel comfortable. My style of communicating in a way that may seem meandering, repetitive, overly complex and pointless to others, is essential for me to be me.
If my style of communication resulted in a string of replies saying saying "We do not want that sort of thing here" - I would quickly leave. - This would not mean I was a bad person, just that I was in the wrong place.
Some who arrive on here are in the wrong place. What tends to happen is they get told they are bad people. It gets personal. Once that happens, they get defensive about their own right to individuality, and the whole thing snowballs out of control.
People make mistakes. It is right that they are told about their mistakes. Not by saying "You are..." but by saying "In here...". Once their mistake has been pointed out to them, (by one person, not over and over again) then they should be given the change to change if they wish.
If they don't wish to change, then they will either leave after deciding that they are in the wrong place, or stay to wind people up, in which case they will become a troll and be banned.

Ok.. I might be a bit naive or stoopid (or both lol ) But can someone please tell me what 'naval gazing' is? confused

Excessive introspection, self-absorption, or concentration on a single issue

Me? Self-absorbed?! Never! :giggle:
Seriously though, is there such a thing as `excessive` introspection? If there is something there to inspect, then it`s worth doing by default, you never know what you might be missing if you don`t bother!
I`m one of those `know thyself` types! lol The more can I understand about myself (and others), the more I can resist making knee-jerk, emotive, reactions to certain events, that HAS to be a good thing, if only to keep me out of trouble! :giggle:

Now youre getting it !! As a long time judgemental bigot I have learned that the emotive knee jerk reaction is the ONLY way to avoid over blown introspection . Not only that but its usually the truest one (wether we care to admit it or not ) . So there ya go we can be politically correct , or we can be intellectually balanced , or we can be honest . What a quandry :-)

Lol, whereas I avoid being overly kneejerk, by introspection! I`d agree it is the most honest, also the most natural at the time, but if I learn to understand why I react the way I do to things, then I develop a fresh more emotionally balanced reaction to things. Not kneejerk, but still natural. The thing I strive for is not to be overly anything but to reflect upon things enough that all three can merge as much as possible. It most probably does seem very extreme to others when they see how I work, and it does come up and bites me on the arse sometimes, either through people taking the piss and invalidating it (which can hurt), or because I get fucked up on occassion by my own thinking, but it is very rewarding in the longrun, and works for me. I wouldn`t change it for the world. It`s who I am. I quite like that person. I`m certainly confident enough about myself not to hide the fact! I`m an open book.

Im bereft of sarcastic reply , so that must be reasonable :-)

I missed this. Great post
The only thing I could add to that is that (imo) some people need more time than others to change their habits if they are willing in the first place that is. The more aggression they encounter, the less likely they are to do so, because they can become polorised on all fronts.
