Swingers, aspiring swingers and the plain curious

It's occurred to me that there are some people here who regularly post ads to hook up with others, but a huge number who don't and who appear lurk in the background, so to speak.
So, just curious as to:
1. how many people actually meet others
2. how many would like to but haven't had the opportunity
3. how many don't actually want to meet others but are just intrigued by the subject.
In the interests of promoting honesty, I'll state that I would fall into the second band, but started off in the last one.
(I have tried posting this as a poll but everytime I press submit it comes back saying there is an error... anyone know why?)

I've met two women from two different sites. One of these women later became my girlfriend, and that was fun while it lasted.
As for SH, I've again met two women. On both occassions, these came through the photo ads and not the forums. I've only just started using the forums, and I feel it's a better way of contributing to the site, and a better way of making new friends. Besides, I've recently discovered that using the forums is much more fun than just placing an ad and showing the women my naked body!
Having said all this, I don't consider myself a full-time swinger, and sometimes I take a break from it. This doesn't mean that I click my fingers and turn the 'action' on and off. I'm not in control of that!

It does seem quite difficult almost to be accepted, and being honest has not helped me much - though i will not change that. I have found by telling people that i am new to this and wanting to get in to the swinging scene they usually turn round and say they are looking for experienced swingers. Surely we were all new to the scene once. Any thoughts ~?

As for the swinging singles thing it's been done to death but.....I have been on here as part of a couple and as a single and now part of a couple again, so as a single should I not be welcome? Mr Tweeky, I know you meant no offence, but the thing about places like this is that you should have an open mind. It shouldn't be closed to one group just because they don't fall into the category that you expect as where will it all end? We have gay people and TVs here too, they don’t fit into any neat definition of ‘swingers’ in the 1970s idea of suburban car-key choosing wife swappers maybe, but we have grown up since then (I hope!) and times move on and definitions widen.
If you only want to meet couples, then of course that is your prerogative. However, there is a place for all kinds of people to have consensual adult fun with other adults.

I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but as part of a mature straight couple we've had quite a few successful meets with men we've contacted via the ads section.
After a few introductory emails, we normally arrange an initial meet in a pub to see if we all get on, and so far, we've met some very nice men, and a couple of them have become regulars.
Him indoors isn't keen on going to a munch or clubs, but I let him look at the pretty pictures in the gallery and he helps with deciding which ads to reply to.
I've also had some interesting chats with men who've contacted me on this site, and I'm having a great time growing old disgracefully!

It looks like I get some reply but no one is interested to carry on the conversation more then once, and I am thinking maybe that many people are only interested in sex and not even build some sort of knowledge of the person. Well it is not a lie that we can trust too many people. But I think that sitting on a chair in our own home and communicate using a computer people will feel safe. Or maybe we become so superficial that the look of a person it is enough to tell us all we need to know.
