if you were to ask about setting up a private members club similar to the Burghley square club , what activities take place is then only subject to, a performance license and booze licence. the booze could be overcome with a bring your own policy and the music is not a subject of planning.
You will find that most councils are pretty fussy about allowing someone to open a swinger’s club anywhere near places where it is likely to cause a stream of complaints from their local tax-payers and voters.
Music is a good idea however you do need a performing right society licence if you are going to be playing it to over 4 peopl. Easy enough to get though as they have a n office in peterborough
If Peterborough was to have a club, i for one would visit with my partner.
Quite a few empty pubs in Peterborough now-a-days. Not to mention a few empty motel facilities on the A1 (note to self "must win lotto and open club")
Best bet would be to organise large parties in your home. to see if there is a demand in the area.
I think the hardest part of your plan is how are you going to advertise the club and make sure you have people visit.
Celery and I have discussed opening a club if we had enough money, we have a fair idea what people would want a club, as we enjoy clubs now again and would ask around others that we know and trust on the site for thier opinion.
The best way for a club to get new members is word of mouth if people say the place is crap then no one will visit. of course if you have to get those people in first....
if you do go ahead with it and good luck to you if you decide to do it, how about holding a social or mini munch there as an opening party... make some area dressed so people can relax and chill and enjoy the munch and then there is the rest of the club to do 'club' things in....
just an idea... but you would get as many people as you can in your door on your openning night and if the club is good they would say so to everyone that asked...
