The watermark goes right across the photos so that if someone tries to copy it they can't then crop it out and pass it off elsewhere

On another site, We had some of our pictures lifted and added to someone elses profile.
After that we decided to add a watermark with our email address to all our pictures.
A it happens, when we submitted our pictures for this site, we wer told that we had to remove the email address. Personally, we would prefer it if our pictures had our Swing Heaven profile name on them.

I'm all for protecting/branding a pic(s) and I don't have a problem either with SH having the website details across the profile or even the current method of profile name...it's just a little too central and the transparency is a bit heavy..

And they are a little heavy with the transparency for the reasons mentioned above, it stops (or makes it harder) for people to 'steal' photos and try to pass them off as their own.

Yeah we have been on the end of that many times...............many a paysite have nicked ours before now. One of em even set up by a member here many moons ago.

Yes, four stone gone and just a bit more to go (but cant stop the chocy habbit so it probably not going to go in the near future)

Well I just searched for a photo I use on 4 sites.....that tinyeye only found the one site !!.... and that was actually this one.. so sorry not that good.

. . . having tried, and failed to find a usefully consistent automated function that will reliably apply the desired level of tranparency to the corporate watermark we choose to apply to our content, in a context sensitive way, I feel somewhat qualified to say there ain't no easy way to reliably make yer pics look their best in a way that doesn't involve an actual human being waggling about sliders in them rotatey / opacity thingies? 
Showcasing the best bits of our best corporate images, and making the detail we want everyone to see available without making them easily stealable is part of what I get paid to do, and it's done image by image, by hand, and by eye in Photoshop prior to the more mechanical bits of the CMS getting hold of 'em.
Hope to buggery there ain't a cheaper, easier way to do it, cos otherwise I'm likely to be earning less of a wage than I do if there is? :?
OTOH, it would save me a good few hours a month here and there, so it's all swings and roundabouts?

I have some kind of vague memory of a site once that marked pictures at non visible level like at pixel level or something? So every pixel had an identifier. You couldn't see it with the naked eye but it was easy to detect if you knew how and therefore tell any site that had your pictures on illegally that it was your picture and have it removed.
