Some off-topic things are fine, I think (help with computer difficulties, as a for instance).... but all this personal chit-chat surely to God ought to be kept in the chatroom, or in PMs, or on that well-known website There are loads of sites that do this "fun" stuff.
I'm quite happy with the notion that fun and sex go together. But there's only one of 'em I can go without.
Some of us just like to plug in and read about swinging and sex. Do you remember sex? YOU used to do it, before you had computers, when you got out more?
This is by no means a blanket condemnation.... it is a great and wonderful and generous notion, SH. A credit to the inventors, and I'm glad I came. But all this waffle could kill it (just check out some old MSN groups you used to know..... all long gone, and precisely because they got buried under unintelligent self-indulgent "fun 'n frolics" rubbish).

General discussion and chit-chat. Post anything here that is NOT a Meet Up or about Dogging. Use the sections below for those.
I think this is the point that you have missed. The Cafe has survived on this basis, with lots of people getting lots of sex from it, for quite some time.
You are not the first to point out that there might be too many non sex related problem is, if you just talked about sex, the same topics would reappear weekly, soon become tedious and everyone would be clamouring for a Cafe to discuss everything and anything else.
You could have posted the same sentiments in a different way, without having to wear a tin hat!
The title of a thread is usually a give away, concentrate on those that might interest you, and ignore the rest. Or, as suggested, start your own threads.
I'm not flaming you, I'm trying to get you to, perhaps, look at it in a different way.
The bottom line is, if you dont like it, dont think you can positively change things, leave!

I dont agree with some of what you posted but i do agree it does seem like theres a private club on here. just my opinion and ill probs get shouted down.

This is my first post on this thread Garden and my purpose for mentioning that, is to demonstrate that I'm not contradicting any previous post and that I've had time to consider the above post and your subsequent post, the post in which you claim you was expressing an opinion. I have to say that the post I've qouted whilst being an opinion is also a rant and an insult to me and I suspect to those that answered before me. To call me (and I'm only speaking for me, although you lumped everyone else in the same boat)unintelligent, self indulgent and smug is insulting which ever way you cut it. To suggest that I ought to be on another site is insulting and the tone you used to express those views is insulting.
I'm not going to get it down to finite percentages (after all I'm not intelligent enough am I) but at the time you posted you said that there were "27 topics that had bugger all to do with sex on the first two pages", which leaves 53 threads that contain the type of stuff that clearly, you enjoy. Just how much more do you actually want, because apart from the cafe, there is a huge lump of the site that really does get down to the nitty gritty of what your looking for, yet you deem to come into the one area where there is a more diverse range of topics and tell those of us that have been here for a while, for that very reason, that we are all boring, thick, infantile, thumpnuts. yes you did use other words, but lets not piss around thats what you meant.
There was nothing wrong with the thrust of your question, although again I am completely at odds with you, because I firmly believe that if the cafe was an 'on topic' area it would be duller than dishwater. Your observations about the "clique of smug chummy old cybermates" aint a million miles from the truth, but if that isnt the case in real life as well, once people have been together for a while, wether it be at work, the local pub, or the street you live in, then I will stick my 'uniteligable head' back up my 'self indulgent' arse and move on, cos thats sure as hell reflects life as I know it.
Truth is, you've come along with a very narrow agenda and area of interest and decided that instead of discussing it, you would 'give us some' because in your opinion, we are simply not focused in, enough on the things that you find interesting and that you believe should be topics of conversation. Well I reckon that some of us are just that little bit deeper than a puddle and can 'waffle' on,about many a subject ,wether it be a serious topic or banal banter and derive pleasure from doing so.
If you want sex related topics then start them, get the information that you want and the pleasure that you will gain from contributing to them, leaving people like me that "need to get out more" (in your opinion) and actually find the subject no more interesting than the next, to talk about, to our favourite nursery rhyme, our wafflings, our banter and piss taking and our chummy, chummy, approach, cos your approach is quite frankly.....shite!
EDIT: You will have to take my word for this garden, but if you are thinking.....yep another one of the clones sticking with his cyber chums then you really are way off the mark, because I'm very happy to swim against the tide if I believe it's right, but this time, I reckon the general consensus to be spot on.

Well I am afraid attacking threads tend to get hijacked, just people letting off steam. However as was stated before abusive mails will be taken a very dim view of. Contact the mods and I am sure you will be surprised by the quick professional response to your concerns.
As for the virus, as one of the techy's here I doubt this was sent intentionally. None of the regulars here really has time to waste keeping inert virus code just waiting for you to post so they have an excuse to send it. What you more likely have is a worm sent from a spoofed address, we get them to and don't blame our last post for it.

Personally this worries me more, but Cuddly I would say while the people (and there are a lot of us) who know each other well may seem hard to get in on, we try to be open. The mentor scheme was designed for that very purpose, helping people understand the social dynamics on here. After a while any group will become, well, a group. To anyone not there at the time they will then seem distant, it nothing to worry about. Just give it some time and you will feel more at home soon.

Yep, I agree with you (and have said it before) about the posts in the cafe, however.... (and there always an however with me)
My perfect Cafe would mean losing a number of people from here that I value.

To a certain extent you're right and it does seem like a private club in here but I think of it more a series of groups of people who know each other and those groups are constantly changing. Appearances can be deceptive and many of the regulars feel just as self-concious when it comes to posting in here.
There are lots of people who do meet up and shag from this site, regulars included. But a lot of people for various reasons have more time to spend on here than they can spend shagging, so if you're in that position you need something to fill in the hours till then. Also it is slightly indescreet to come in here and share the latest debauched weekend with everyone! biggrin
