I have always believed that we should try to find as much information and techniques to make us better lovers. No one knows everything and I always enjoy trying new ideas. I have been looking around for workshops but the only ones I have been able to find are tied up with tantric mumbo jumbo.
Then it struck me. Why don't we do our own workshops without the mumbo jumbo. Advertise through SH, run at Kestrels and other clubs. Aimed at newcomers and shyer members to swinging. Starting at the beginning and working up to more advanced stuff. The mix should be both couples and singletons. Equal mix of male and female. Keep the price reasonable one flat rate to encourage people to attend.
The advantages are that everybody should feel safer in a controlled group environment and clubs could make some new members.
They could run something like this starting at the very beginning and work up to fetish etc,
Workshop 1
Intro, swinging etiquette, ppe, safety, basic A+P ( I have heard tale of male student nurses putting catheters into vaginas.), Masturbation/Oral sex including use of toys, demonstration, discussion of techniques and practice,.
Workshop 2
Intro, Revision of workshop 1, Sexual positions (discussion advantages/ disadvantages of each,) demonstration and practice, Group work.
Workshop 3
Intro, Revision of previous workshops, Anal. B+D, S+M etc,
Its only an idea. What do you think? Who would organize?
Swinging Workshops ?
WTF ??
put a few couples in a room supply lots of wine and turn up heating, lock them in for few hour. they will learn all. lol
Maybe this could be organised as an addition to socials - it could not actually form part of one, what with the practical stuff lol.
There is a need for education in this area - the amounts of people turned off by things because they have not be introduced to them properly is staggering.
.... now where's my copy of the Karma Sutra and Cosmopolitan? - I'm sure learning in a practical environment is more fun than leafing through books though lol

Part of the swinging experience is in the discovery of new and exciting things and having a workshop for it would be bloody awful. can you imagine how it would be? Would it be like one of those management team working affairs or more a lecture with a power point presentation? Is there such a thing as swinging NVQs or certificates in swinging competency or a teaching qualification? Of course not, well maybe in some obscure eastern U.S seaboard university that teaches it alongside diplomas on pancake tossing.
The last thing that we and i'd assume most would want is such a clinical approach to swinging unless in some sort of fetish/role play scenario. The learning is half the fun and there's no one thing that makes a swinger a good swinger its the dynamics of diversity and the attention and consideration you share with each other that makes a difference, To teach someone to be a good swinger would be hard but to learn to be a good swinger not so hard. everyone is different so no one method or set of rules is going to work with all. Swinging needs to be kept a fringe activity to give it novelty value otherwise a lot of the interest would be lost. familiarity breeds contempt etc.
Be confident enough in yourself and open enough to go out and learn you don't need to be taught swinging.
