For many years now I have practiced Tai chi not in the violent manner
But in the more gentler aspect of this fascinating gentler art...laid back content at peace and in tune with ones self smile :)
I was just wondering if any other members practiced this form of relaxation. wink

You didn't sound too content and at peace in the steam room recently!
Never tried tai chi. Yoga, the odd bit of meditation and red wine as necessary seems to work for me
I love My Tai Chi/ Qi Gong.

I didn't know there was a violent aspect to it. But then I've only really seen it in Calendar Girls.
Personally I do yoga and would recommend to ANYONE - even people in wheelchairs can benefit from some of the aspects - especially the upper body stretching and breathing.
It's relaxing, improves strength flexibility, posture and fitness.
I'd love to have a go at Thai Chi. And see how different it is.
Have done Tai-Chi in the past, it can be defined as a martial art, if you look behind the history and mechanics of the moves they usually derive from some form of defensive manouvre, eg, deflecting an arm as it goes to hit you, all the way to offensive procedures, eg sword stab!.
It's just done very very very slowly lol.
Into mindfulness meditation at the moment, very relaxing - Breathe, ahhhh
