Tecchie help desperately needed!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!! (please!)
Been having a major problem, originally couldn't connect at all to the net. Now I can get connected but pages wont load. This has been driving me nuts since this time yesterday mad

Spent ages last night getting nowhere. I know im on here- but that appears to be a fluke!
Im connected with Tiscali & use Firefox. Have tried I.E- same problem, different font. The message Im getting is this:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the .
* Check the address for typing errors such as
instead of

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Any help would be enormously appreciated- dont know what else to try, and Im almost bald now! :cry:

Do you have a programme that can look for spy/adware? They can really really slow a computer down.

It could be a problem that Tiscali is having hun rather than you. Can you get other sites up or nothing at all?

Nope- and havent done anything differently/installed owt that could be the culprit either.
Even did a system restore just in case- to no avail.
I feckin hate feckin computers (when they dont work) mad

I sometimes get this and mainly blaim it on the kids - don't know when and why this sometimes happens, but it hasn't happened so much since I started using that little green dragon pop-up/cookie blocker. Failing that I'm afraid I go for the old full virus scan or system restore and switch everything off. rolleyes

That was my first thought- when I came home today & fired up it all was fine- for about 10 mins, then *bollocks*!!!!
Im hoping its a problem their end, but I suppose there wont be many Tiscali peeps around to say if it is!

(2).......................Ad-aware SE
Number one is the better of them. If you get no luck with No1 then try No2.

Are you on broadband ????????????/
If so try taking the telephone line out of the router/modem turn off the power for about five mins., reconect all and try again.

Sounds to me like you have a trojan virus which interfers with windows explorer.
To rid your pc of this you got to reformate it.
If your running xp then heres what you do.- switch on your pc,b4 it boots up keep tapping f11 key, this will take you to a blue page were you have a choice of partial destruct or full destruct.
Click patial destruct and let your pc reformate itself-note- you will have to reinstall broadband-printers-cam and other stuff but all settings do remain the same.
This should clean your hardrive of all crap or virus picked up on net, your pc will be like it was you got it new from the shop.
If you have the same problem then repeat as i just said and click full destruct, results will be the same but this time any pictures or folders u want to keep will be lost-msn- will have be reinstalled.
I don mine every 6months an pc is fast an clean
Oh all your windows updates will update themselves again an any antivirus you are running wil have to be reinstalled and will also update itself.
