mine has been doing that too ..... think its overheating so gonna take it in for a service
If its over heating try blowing the fan ducts out with some air or run the hoover over to suck any dust out (very quickly).
other than that try propping the back of the laptop up (use a book) if it stays on longer its probably overheating still.
Right... run over it with the Animal... that's sucked all the dust and shit out.
Have it propped up on books now.
What's the long term solution? Take it to someone to fix?
The sudden shutdown happens if your processor overheats. Maybe because:
-Fluff blocking the air inlets.
-Leg blocking the inlets (don't let anyone tell you these things are actually supposed to go on your lap! LOL)
-Main fan has failed.
-The processor fan has failed (some components have their own tiny fans).
Or you could possible have a virus, but only if the virus is specifically written to cause a sudden shut down. It's not very likely.
Unfortunately for many laptops the processor is an integral part of the motherboard so you may be looking at a full M/B replacement.
also do yourself a favour before you take it back take a look on internet and find out if your machine has an overheat design problem as this does happen alot
also as your machine is very new dont except a repair on the machine a shop will try a repair method with you when you take it back you dont have to except this method (to me this is second hand when a repair is done)
you can cause a stink up but be polite in the shop your within your rights to demand a brand new machine or even your money back as its still under its warantee (ive allready done this after 9 months has passed so i know its true)
also check your rights for buying products from a shop also read the shop warantee and also its repair guide
Sent my laptop back... got an email to say it was faulty. Brand new one arrived today! :bounce:
