Hi Guys.....I clicked accidentally on a Website and now I keep getting pop-up's all over the place even though I closed down the Website as soon as I'd clicked on it.
Now when I'm online there are lots of pop-ups and when I log off I get pop-ups too!!! sad
Do I have a Virus? If so, how do I get it sorted out.....please please help me....
Thanks
Helen.
I'd be grateful to know the answer to this too, the PC my daughter uses does the same thing as soon as she connects to the internet.
You could try downloading a program like Ad-aware, it searches your machine for little spies in your cookies and deletes them.

I tried that this morning but it didn't seem to work....I'm thinking it might be a virus instead. But thanks for the advice....
Relativly new here (John dont hit me again!), but I might suggest:
o loading the Google toolbar to stop most pop ups
o download latest virus sig files
o perform full scan on your PC
I love the Google toolbar anyway - its well worth having.
Hope you get it sorted,
Ian
Chesh - I just downloaded the google toolbar - thanks for mentioning it!

It sounds like your browser's been hijacked though it could be a virus.
See for more info.

I concur though you may want to customise it.
Thanks for the help guys.....I'm going to install the Google Toolbar in a second and I'll make sure I use ad-aware every day...so we'll see what happens....
Thanks again!!

I can highly commend CWshredder, available from the same site, for cleaning hijacked browsers/machines:

It cleared a nasty case of hijacking which also included writing various unsavoury items to a gentleman's "Favourites" folder, every time he rebooted following a clean-up.
