Ow Do!!!
I want pop a pic from our last party up on our Party advert in the Photo Ads section.
Unfortunately it is well over the 50k limit.
If someone could point in the right direction to get this issue sorted you will be rewarded with a truly lovely pic of some truly lovely people getting down to some seriously hot action.
Cheers!!! wink

ps I am still really hungover and it appears that I am getting worse - all sympathy & attention gratefully received.
Have you tried e-mailing the pic to yourself, that compresses the size of the original pic
shouldn't take 10 seconds to run it through photoshop.
Resize it, jpeg it, or whatever.
I'd offer but it would have to wait until the evening because, as of this morning, our network admin here as blocked all POP3 email access.
You can change the attributes of the image using MS Paint.
Other than that you'll need some photo manipulation software like Adobe Photoshop. wink
I find Infraview is a very easy program to use smile
Lucyxxxxx
Even just opening jpeg in paint and saving it again reduces its size
I just tried opening up a picture of the kids in paint, it was 200kb
selected: Image > Stretch / Skew change
Horizontal and Vertical to 50%
Bobs yer uncle Fannys yer Aunty now got a photo that is 50kb
Microsoft is your friend, if you have XP:

Free and easy image resizer.
You could alternatively use Paint. Open the image, go to Image > Attributes and find the pixel size. Then use Stretch Skew, again from the image menu, to reduce its size so that the largest dimension is around 300 pixels. Go back to Attributes and check it's small enough, repeat if necessary.
Or, if ^^^^ is too much like hard work/incomprehensible, pm me and I'll sort it smile
... and if you DO get that pic down to size, make sure it features only YOU and not your guests or you may find yourself on the wrong end of a ban. wink
Above offer extended, in light of Heather's statement, to include swirlification* of faces smile
*highly technical term there ;)

oops...
Thanks for the Heads-Up Heather.
Actually it only features our guests..!!!
The people in the pics have ok'ed its use on our party ad - the pic has had all faces etc covered.
Will that still get us banned?

It's a one size fits all ban, I'm afraid, D...
We haven't the time or resources to go check for consent and copyright clearance on anyones ads. Any pics you use must be of you and on one else.

FWIW: You don't actually need to. Copyright belongs to the person taking the picture. That person may open themselves up to a claim for modelling fees, in the absence of a release, only if they fail to take action that a 'reasonable individual' would regard as avoiding identification of those concerned.
