Honest this came over the loud speaker system after we had waited an hour and a half to board.

Yup. Was once told the aircraft I was on was broken whilst part way through a flight. Furthermore they saw fit to tell us they were actually taking the aircraft apart (specifically, the cockpit instrument panels) to see if they could fix the problem.

Sounds like the flight crew had a sense of humour!
I'd be more than happy to fly with folk who talk about "broken aircraft".

you want to be on an aircraft, homeward bound and it tkaes the pilot 3 yes THREE attempts to land, i've never heard a packed plane cheer so loud once we were down on terra ferma
